www.switched.com/2011/02/15/radiohead-king-of-limbs-newspaper-album/Radiohead Eliminates Freebies With New 'Newspaper' Album by Warren Riddle on February 15, 2011 at 06:30 AM www.electronichouse.com/slideshow/category/9050/1257For their next record, the technologically driven members of Radiohead apparently want to pay homage to a noticeable victim of the Internet Age -- the newspaper. According to Wired, Radiohead has labeled its upcoming record 'The King of Limbs' as "the world's first newspaper album," and will fittingly release it in a variety of editions. You'll be able to purchase digital copies online (for a set price this time) on February 19th. Physical editions, reportedly packed with artwork and other "goodies," will start shipping out on March 9th. Basic digital downloads will reportedly run around $10, while the loaded physical packages will cost approximately $50. The band hasn't specifically addressed what exactly constitutes a "newspaper album," but "the world's first"? Ian Anderson and his Jethro Tull bandmates might have a little something to say about that. Old meanings move in the drift of time.

Nothing's new is it TT. Check out www.spd.org/2009/10/newspaper-album-covers.phpwhere you'll see, amongst others, such gems as (1976) and (1961) Mind you, they're nothing to be really compared with TAAB due to the complexity of the album cover. The American version, and quite possibly releases in other parts of the world, contained subtle differences in the text to the original UK release. One day I'll put on my reading glasses and have a closer look.
