Be much obliged if a linguistics expert could translate the piece on the left please This is from the Spanish press and the author is Alberto Mallofre from "La Vanguardia" or agencia EFE, I think. Google translation: Coinciding with the performance in our country, it appears the last work of Ian Anderson and his guys: Martin Barre (guitar) John Evan (piano), Barrymore Barlow (drums and percussion) and John Glascock (bass and vocals) the latter replaces Jeffrey Hammond-Hammond. After the disappointment of his album "War Child" Tull returned to the happy times with "Minstrel In The Gallery". Now with his new album the group seems to fall back into the trap of simplistic music of "War Child" but does not reach the end of it but not to the brilliance of Minstrel In The Gallery. We could define his later work as a merger of the previous two, as if the group want to start a new period, big mistake as the best would be return to the context of "Thick As A Brick" or "Aqualung". from the album stands out because orchestration and accompanying that the group has used this time and that has hurt him in some moments and the good interpretation of Ian with their instruments: acoustic guitar, flute, harmonica, percussion and electric guitar occasionally. Overall a good album but unfortunately demonstrator of the lack of imagination of the group

I probably agree with some of the criticism on the lyrics...In '76 I was hearing "Too Old to Rock" on the radio and felt it was hard for me to sing along. Even in '77 when I saw them LIVE...

Saw Tull 5 times at the NEC Birmingham and this show was brilliant.
Just remembered that we arrived early and you could hear Tull were rehearing 'Budapest'on and off for ages. Managed somehow to sneak in the back and stood in awe for literally seconds. Me, Tull and an empty 15000 seat arena! Got nabbed by security and had my camera confiscated and had to get it back after the show.

Great album but why is not nearer the top of my fave JT albums? Just Thinking Aloud..... answers on a postcard. OneWhiteMonkey Maybe because Chris Welch actually liked it ? Now if he'd said he hated it it would have sold far more copies at the time of its original release perhaps. Never rated Chris Welch as a music critic myself - enough said.

I rate Knave low too. Part Of The Machine improves the listening for me. As the years pass I've enjoyed it more. Another improvement (at least to me) is that other room echo that helps remind everyone of Dire Straits is gone for the most part from the 2005 remaster.

I will continue to repeat this every year - I live in hope that someone will find and post a news article from some bible belt local towns newspaper (or elsewhere) that shows the condemnation of Aqualung . Accompying picture of red faced clergy as a bonus!! Was it true?
