Cheers A rather fine tribute. Even now I still can't get over the fact MV's no longer with us. A larger than life character in many ways, his name will always crop up somewhere along the line when Tull fans meet up at concerts etc. And I can't remember who won the quizz but I have a distinct feeling he may have done. However, had he not, it was in his character to have been magnanimous in defeat and to have been more than happy for the winner. After all, it was all about his beloved Jethro Tull.

This is great stuff and really reminds me that considering the size and scope of Jethro Tull, there really is a smallish family of mutually respectful, lifelong fans...we are growing old together and sharing our dumbfounded luck that the horse we picked in our youth continues to win, win, win. I'm proud to even be in a conversation about guys like Michael V. and our own Maddog...this Jethro Tull thing has really worked out nicely....

Ahh well we're not ones to blow our own trumpet however gems like that are worth shouting about. I love these "private" videos of private shows, if you like both the songs and the intros from Ian.
Thanks to all involved and thanks to the people who had the foresight to record these events.

Thanks to all involved and thanks to the people who had the foresight to record these events. I'm so grateful to Danny for allowing me to copy his video of The '96 Convention. There's a few more gems to come when I have time to edit some more of the footage. The original video is of course VHS so I've had to make another digital recording of the whole thing. Believe me it's a labour of love.

Hey Bunkerfan
Thanks so much for posting these photos - it's been great to see them again.
I have always thought that Ian was genuinely delighted to be sharing the stage with Mick and the last photo really does bear that out. I would like to think that the various conventions went some way to helping heal the rift between Ian and Mick, but perhaps that is a rather presumptuous thought to have!
It was such a shame that Glenn couldn't make it on the day. It really was all set up for the reunion of reunions - I even had my introduction prepared!

Zob Yes, I agree with you Zobstick that last photo is a gem, Mick and Ian looked so relaxed and happy. Ian's gesture and smile to Mick could only come from a friend. Cheers bunkerfan

As I said before, I uploaded some videos to youtube, the lighting is not the best for the recording and the sound has some flaws, maybe with an audio bootleg I could replace the audio of the video...
D. Palmer performance
Solstice + Clive Bunker and Ian Anderson
As you can check the audio is not good, but I promise to fix it if someone can contribute the bootleg Here Graham surely can give better information of the band, songs etc.
Ian Anderson / Tull performance
Cat's Squirrel - Mick - Bloodwyn Pig
The DVD is cut as it has been uploaded to youtube, it is not a continuous filming. I think I have other filming of the convention that I will add when are uploaded to youtube

A big thanks to everyone who has contributed photos and videos etc to this thread - seeing them has made me realise just how fortunate we were to have so many current and ex members of Jethro Tull join us for the day. I was going to say lucky, but a lot of people put in a lot of effort to make it happen on the day. Big respect to all convention organisers from one of your own!!
I like to think that the guys were showing their appreciation to us - the fans - for our loyalty to the band over the years - believe me, it hasn't been a hardship!

Great days out indeed - good music, meeting up with friends and like minded fans and picking up the odd piece of memorabilia - what more could a Tull fan want. For many years I had the list of ticket sales for the first small convention back in '89 where we were limited to 250 paying attendees ('elf and safety reasons + fire regulations) and it always surprised me just how many people said they were present and who in fact weren't. One reason was that the small profit made was by selling the remainder of the t shirts at that years Cropredy festival - thanks to Ian Burgess for that. And speaking of Ian, anyone here know of his whereabouts these days? We lost touch some time ago.
