A pretty good review, for me it was the greatest ever, simply because they squeezed in everybody that was anybody. A few notable absentees - Santana, Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple, Jeff Beck, Grateful Dead, Country Joe - but most of the acts that did turn up did themselves proud, some better than others. The festival exhibition at nearby Dimbola Lodge isn't all that big, but the rest of the old house is worth a visit. It is a museum dedicated to the life and works of Julia Margaret Cameron, the noted Victorian photographer.
Simon Cowell and all the rest of his money making X-factor pop idol Britains' got talent show no hoper colleagues would do well to sit overlooking the festival site with a copy of the Whos' performance, (for me, the best act of the whole 5 days), and ponder a time when talented acts really were just that and not 5 minute wonders. Oh crap, the latest series of X-Factor has just started - quick, put on the Whos' performance, or Joan Baez or Richie Havens or any of them.
