i remember my sister brought back warchild from university and it hooked me at the age of 14, then i saw them at the odeon in the same year. my teenage years at school were dominated by the band, discussing songs lyrics etc. i remember defending the lyrics of my god in a religious lesson in the 6th form vehemently. does this early obsession with all things IA echo with anyone?!!!

Family members and siblings seem to be a usual way of people's introduction to Jethro Tull. Although we'd seen the band at the Star Club in '68 and bought "This Was" and the first two Island singles it was only when Tull were on Top Of The Pops and they played LITP (a long lost performance erased from video by the BBC - b*****ds) that the comments by my Father of "what the hell is that?" (or words to that effect) made me continue my love of the Tull music legacy. The generation gap was certainly in evidence in our household when I was a kid and to good effect.
