It must be a more subtle connection ( shared musicians?) than the rip-off bootlog called 'Ian and Alice' that was around in about 1973...which was nothing more than side one of the famous 'Ticketron' boot and a side of some horrific, live Alice Cooper stuff.

You're right Bernie on both counts - the "Alice 'n' Ian" bootleg and yes, it wasn't very subtle I only put it up on the Forum as an Austrian friend has just purchased a copy of it and I went surfing for the details. Not sure if the locations are correct but this is what I've found. Been promised a copy of it at some time. Side A: Alice Cooper I’m Eighteen Gutter Cat Vs The Jets Killer Schools Out Recorded Live at Hofstra University, Hempstead, NY 1972 (from ABC TV In Concert broadcast. “[In Concert] premiered on November 24, 1972. The first episode was the broadcast of a concert taped at Hofstra University on September 21, 1972 with Alice Cooper, Bo Diddley and Seals & Crofts.” Side B: Jethro Tull: Jam-Quote To Cry You A Song Aqualung Wind Up Listed as being recorded at the Hofstra University, Denver CO. 11.05.73.

Strange...that's the cover I had...but the Tull side on mine was definitely 'TAAB' from 'Ticketron' boot...not the songs listed above which, i think, I had on a different boot...not 'Flutecake', not 'Baltimore and Around'...and anyway...Hofstra is most definitely not in Denver... I think it's in New York...but that's the thing about those early boots...they were often re-bootlegged, renamed, repackaged and all kinds of misinformation. Tull was NOT playing those songs in late 73 and did not play Denver that month for sure.

Funny and interesting looking back over this thread. Haven't a clue to the answer in the above post despite me asking. Someone mentioned a few days ago about first names mentioned in Tull songs. Here's a few - see if you can guess without looking what songs they're from - add some of your own if I've missed out any. Joe Ray Bridget Sally Cecil Jimmy
