Damn! I forgot to post this for you guys when I learned about it a few days ago! I'm sorry! Tonight, on drumchannel.com, they had a live roundtable discussion with Neil Peart, Doane Perry and Terry Bozzio. I was at a birthing class, so I missed most of the beginning, but I did get to see the end of the discussion, which was followed by a drum jam. The jam featured the three players working their way around a studio full o' drums! It was excellent! I went ahead and posted this because I noticed they are going to make it available on demand on their website soon, so everyone should have a chance to see it. In the small bit of the discussion I caught, Doane had a few good stories, including one featuring donuts at a Tull show. I don't want to give anything away, so that's all I'll say. I can't wait to see the stuff I missed! Here's the link to what was the feed: www.drumchannel.com/entertainment/42132.aspxHopefully when the stream is up, that link will guide us to it. Cheers!

Thank You Raymensch and more mazel tovs on the new addition to your family! Cappucinno Song, played to my little one during her first weeks on earth, launched her ongoing love of Tull. Just wiggle the little arms and legs in time to the music, gentle kisses during the drum breaks and insert your child's name in the ragamuffin children line....guaranteed to hard wire your child for Tull.

I've been playing some Tull and Rush on my wife's belly every once in a while. I like your scheme, I'm gonna try that! Just to add.. They have finally posted the entire Roundtable at the above link! All 2+hours! That Doane is a talker!

Thanks for the reminder.
I remember at the US Convention in Vermont Ian had to cut Doane off otherwise he would have talked all day.
Neil Peart is an incredible drummer. I never knew he pronounced his name "Piert".

Have any of you watched the drum jam? Any thoughts on Doane's performance or lack thereof? I kept waiting for him to step up and contribute but it seemed he preferred to remain in the back....way in the back.

Good to hear he still namechecks Clive Bunker as an influence plus the brilliant joke with the doughnuts is a killer ;D

Dunno if it was between Barlow and Craney or between Craney and Doane but I read, somewhere, that Ian practically begged Bozzio to join Tull and called him 'the best drummer in the world'..I think it was during the milliseconds that Bozzio and his wife or sister, Dale Bozzio, had some new wave chart success with 'Missing Persons' so he wasn't tempted to join the then, sorta limping Tull.

Working now. Bit boring but then what can you expect from a bunch of drummers How can you tell when a drummer's at the door? He doesn't know when to come in. What do you call a drummer with half a brain? Gifted. What does a drummer use for contraception? His personality. What do you call someone who hangs around with musicians? A drummer. But seriously here is Terry Bozzio with Zappa. www.youtube.com/watch?v=M782Ax4b4_0
