According to Ian's posting he will be doing two solo tours in the US in 2009. Have found dates in Chicago and Glenside, PA in October. Anyone aware of the full schedule?

I found the Glenside date by searching other Tull sites. They went on sale on 1/28, didnt find out till 2/4!! I was pissed! I got half way decent seats, but it's still towards the back of the house. I'm hoping some other venues are posted soon and I catch them before the on sale date so I can get better seats. I'll be checking every day!! Two Ian tours, huh. I wonder if the October dates are the first one or the second? I'll be checking back regurlaly. Chip

What happened to signing up on the official site and being given early warning for ticket sales?...a great idea that many bands do for their true fans....i seem to remember Tull initiating something like that but it seems to have sputtered out

Anyone aware of the full schedule? 7/10/09 Vic Theatre Chicago, Il. USA Billed as Ian Anderson 'Plays The Acoustic Jethro Tull'. Tickets on sale from January. 16/10/09 Keswick Theatre Glenside, Pa. USA 20:00 start. 5/11/09 Grove of Anaheim Anaheim, Ca. USA 20:00 start. These are the only 3 US shows I've seen so far. I think the Anaheim concert is new.

Steel,
Good news for you...you are misreading the European date format. The Anaheim show is in November not May. Now you can plan.

I have to say in all honesty, SM, it was down to you and my sister.
She lives closer to me, is built like a trucker, and can arm wrestle like one, too. And she threatened me with bodily harm if I didn't give up your ticket to her.
Now. If you are feeling particularly randy, and think you can take on a 5'10, 250 lb. red-headed landlocked leviathan I will PM her address to you, and you can go trust your luck.
The only thing I ask is you tell me where and when the meet-up is, because I would love to watch! ;D

Well... I'm just under 5'8" and just over 160 lbs...so how about if you put the second ticket somewhere and your sister and I, seperated by a moat until the actual ticket site, race for the ticket...If I grab it first, she's welcome to chase me till one of us give up.
I see the gigs are Thursday and Friday...not good for my work week and custody ballet but If Ian doesn't schedule something in the Bay Area or in between ( remember they played stockton in 84 and fresno in 93 or 94, i think.), then I'll have to find a way to come to LA...I think the Wiltern is a great place...don't know the OC venue. Maybe, one way or another, we pathcross this tour.....Ian has played Santa Rosa 2 or 3 times so I'm guessing that's my destiny this fall. My birthday is 10-31....might work out just right!.

I did mention that she lived closer to me than to you, yes? That sort of a contest would not end well for me. kc very kindly found you a gig in the city. So while that's great for you, it's pooey for me. Cuz I would have loved to hang out with you at a performance. But I can only afford one concert. When it is discovered that I've paid for two....heads may roll! Ah, well. One of these days....

Lemme know so I can shop! Bluehare...I'll take your sister on just for sport....tell me when and where.

Maybe we should ring up Ian and peddle you two as the opening act at the Warfield....
You're bound to put bums (as in "tushies") in seats early. You know how he hates stragglers....

I'm sure there will be plenty more gigs announced...ian's not a man to sit around expensive hotel rooms between gigs! maybe something else near SF for me! You East Coast peeps should consider Glenside, PA...a northern burb of Philly...saw Richard Thompson there years ago...great venue.

I know we have both gone around about whether to see Tull/I.A the past few years but I think it will be a good show. I really enjoyed the Rubbing Elbows show and hope Ian makes a closer stop to me in Upstate NY as my desire to have to travel more than 90 miles to follow the band have dissappeared with my youth.

Center orchestra, about 20 rows back. And I hear you about the travel. I was holding out hope for a possible North Jersey PAC show in the old John Harms theater in Englewood, NJ, but since this is on a Saturday, I'll travel down and stay over somewhere by the ocean and make a weekend of it.
