The 'unofficial' UK Jethro Tull Convention 2024
Once upon a time, Tull fans across the UK had the opportunity to attend Fan Conventions in various locations across the country over a period of several years. An opportunity to meet up with like-minded souls, trade Tull merchandise, watch live music some of which included various musicians from the Jethro Tull family. In recent years, these events have not taken place for a variety of reasons but have remained a popular talking point within fan circles. Just when such an idea seemed to have disappeared off the face of the earth, comes the announcement that actually a kind of 'unofficial' UK Jethro Tull Fan Convention will be happening after all in 2024 following some late night discussions between
Dave Rees, editor at AND and Festival Director at NEW DAY FESTIVAL , and myself. As some of you may already be aware, A NEW DAY are presenting a showcase concert at The Cryer Arts Centre in Carshalton, London on Thursday March 28th. The opportunity to get fans of Jethro Tull together in one place having definitely presented itself next month, a cunning plan was hatched - why not add even more gravitas and call this unique event - A Fan Convention. Well it's not bad idea at that.
