Ouch. Well that’s the risk you take when you insist on prancing backwards while playing the flute! Good thing he landed softly, I do worry about the guy sometimes. He’s handling it correctly by allowing himself a moment on the floor before getting up. Last thing you wanna do is get embarrassed and try to jump up instantly… easily make things worse that way.

Video by Miklós Kecskés Locomotive Breath, Budapest Kongresszusi Központ 2023.04.07. After watching this video I believe the white line on the floor is what Ian was supposed to use as a reference point during his movements onstage. This was the last song after all the movements throughout the performance that night. Either he became confused at the backward steps or the stage roadie forgot to move the monitor. At least he survived without being taken out by medical personnel

OMG Ian falls at 7 minute mark. So glad he's ok! I was always concerned about that backward movement. This was a couple of days ago. I really wanna see a new video soon to confirm he’s fully ok (and to see if he dares to try the backwards prancing move again)!

Wow 5 concerts in California. I am confirmed for two and might be tempted into a third either by chance to escort a Tull novice or if first concert (9-26) proves too good to ignore adding date option.

Just in from the Northern Kin festival. Tull were on for 75 minutes which was the norm for the bigger bands here. The set list was: - Nothing is easy - With you there to help me - Sweet Dream - We used to know - Zealot Gene - Bouree - Heavy Horses - The Navigators - Dark Ages - Aqualung - Locomotive Breath
Ian Anderson & the band were in great form and went down really well with a sizeable crowd. I have often wondered if Tull are a festival band but tonights concert showed that they have no problem in shows like this. Most of the audience were standing and I think the band are better seen this way especially with the shorter show duration.
I thought Ian's voice was generally good. I heard that the fact he rested it from live shows over the Covid period has helped. The other band members helped him out on Heavy Horses and Dark Ages. The highlight of the show for me was "The Navigators" which sounded great and was much appreciated by the audience. Joe Parrish has been an excellent addition to the band, an amazing talent that has added some power to the songs. Overall a fantastic show and it looked like Ian Anderson was pleased with the reception they got from the crowd.
PS, IA did a much reduced backward walk during Locomotive Breath…

For a 75 minute show that’s one hell of a set list.

PS, IA did a much reduced backward walk during Locomotive Breath… I agree with everything you say stevep. I spent the day of my 74th birthday watching Durham cricket and came home at the tea interval and raced home and set off 3 hours before Tull were due on and as Usher College is only 40 mins. from my home I thought I had plenty of time, wrong! I was stuck in a traffic jam near the festival and finally got parked 45 mins. before Tull, then I hit the queue to get in and missed the first 2 songs but I could still hear them thank goodness When I did get in Tull were great and Ian's voice was as good as I've heard in ages. The set list was a good one and I really enjoyed every song they played. When Tull finished I set off to find my car and fell over in the mud on the way When I did set off, like most people, I got stuck in the mud and ended up being towed by a huge tractor so thanks to that tracker driver I managed to get home safe and sound. I took a small handheld camera and captured these videos. I hope you like them but I do apologise for the shaky recordings as I kept getting jostled Sorry if I missed the endings Sweet DreamThe NavigatorsCheerio

A belated Happy Birthday Bunkerfan. No consolation I know but we had the same problems entering & leaving the festival. This is the third festival here for us. It normally takes us 15 minutes to get there and parked. Yesterday it took 90 minutes and another 45 minutes to get armbands and enter. We got stuck in the mud on the way in and out and the same big tractor pulled us out. I had wanted to see Shooglenifty and missed all but the last two songs. The problem was the heavy (heavy) rain on Thursday night & I think they moved things around. The area to the right of the stage on tent 1 was a complete bog and mud was deep enough to come inside boot (as I found out). Will buy you a birthday beer if you are there today or tomorrow.. Will send a message.
PS . Thanks for the videos - I was stood near you but did not jostle you (honest)...

Thanks so much for the reports, chaps! Lovely videos, bunkerfan, and happy birthday. That is indeed a pretty fun setlist! Navigators is a good choice to debut the new album, should be an excellent live song.
It’s good to hear he’s taking it easy with the cavorting, stevep. Let’s make this final era last as long as we can! Now if he would only come to sweden..

I won't be there anymore this weekend especially after reading this but thanks for the offer of a birthday beer County Durham music festival hit by traffic, mud and toilet chaos
A music festival should be "called off" over health and safety fears, revellers at the "mud bath" site have said.
There have reports of traffic problems and issues with toilets, water supply and disabled access at the Northern Kin Festival in Ushaw, County Durham.
Bosses said supply issues and adverse weather had created a "perfect storm" and they were "deeply sorry" and trying to resolve the problems.
Attendees have told the BBC that people have been put "at risk".
The festival made a return to Ushaw on Friday and promised dozens of acts, including Jethro Tull with performances running until Sunday.
However, festivalgoers were left queuing for hours before arriving to a field with limited facilities.

I liked the look of this festival and thought about driving down from Scotland to attend, but didn't... ....lots of bands I like on the bill......shame about the weather. I'd happily get you a beer or three Bunkerfan.

I've just read about a group of people who travelled down from Falkirk and got stuck in that traffic jam and never got to see any of the bands so sadly, I'm pleased you made your choice not to drive down, it could have all ended in tears Thanks for the offer of beer and thanks for the birthday wishes

Ian Anderson is taking a moment from his hectic touring schedule to visit old friends in Reykjavik. The legendary Jethro Tull lead singer is using the opportunity to bring his beloved JS watch in for service and to meet with his friend and master watchmaker Gilbert O Gudjonsson. With a concert in the city on May 4th, Ian is sure to make the most of his time in Reykjavik and take care of a few essential tasks while he's at it. Fb LINK 1
Ian Anderson, known throughout the world of rock music as the flute and voice behind the legendary Jethro Tull is a very good friend of Gilbert and JS Watch co. Reykjavik and he stops by the workshop every time he visits Iceland.
Gilbert has been one of Jethro Tull's biggest fan here in Iceland since he was a young man, so it was a great and pleasant surprise when Ian came to the store the first time.
Mr Anderson is now a proud owner of a brand new SIF N.A.R.T watch, but he also has a JS Watch 101 which he has owned for few years now. LINK 2
