I honestly believe most of those "reaction" videos are not genuine ( and not just the Tull ones). Reading between the lines , they seem to be posted by people who either are fans already and just want an excuse to talk about a favourite artist, or the reaction is over the top "oooh" and "aaahs" and marvellous surprise, to please subscribers out there who suggested they should hear it. It feeds their ego too, that these guys think their review matters and that viewers are hanging on their every word! Its clever , because we then as viewers naturally feel satisfaction that our favourite artists are being talked about and apparently appreciated ! ( That quote comes to mind :"How quick we are to approve of those who approve of us" ) I never really met anyone (including myself) who could make any sense of something like "Brick" for a very first listen, like a lot of Tull it just appears to be a jumble of stop, start, ever changing notes until we unlock it with repeated plays. Due to the nature of Tull I don't think there are many songs where anyone who had never heard them before would go "Wow" after just one spin. I may be being unfair, but in my opinion the whole "reaction" thing is generally faked. It will be interesting to see what others think.

I suppose there is an ulterior motive to just about anything that people say or do. We may as well be psychologically manipulated by subliminal thought patterns from JETHRO TULL !!!
I for one enjoy most reactions based on my own experiences since 1973... When I first heard TULL on FM radio it was good but not quite certain as to the meaning. Then a Ballerina named 'Jane' stole my heart away from a 17 year old girl that just wanted to see a concert. Yes I was psychologically manipulated by Jeffrey and every one I saw onstage. It all seemed so REAL

That is of course a possibility, but not all the time... Manipulation sometimes, but not every time… Anyway… I find it interesting to listen to these reactions. I’m going to continue to post them though. I went wow the first time I heard Jethro Tull… It happens… The videos may get a younger audience attention, and I welcome such a development...

And there is nothing wrong with you watching the videos and finding them interesting, but your post rather proves my point. We have a loyalty to Tull and rather want others to appreciate them too. These guys feed off that loyalty to boost their own standing. I'm still convinced that largely they are not "first time reactions" at all. I came to appreciate a long time ago that most mainstream music fans found Tull a bit bizarre and even more so nowadays. To see some teen supposedly in raptures over a goggle eyed IA in full flow from maybe 40 years ago doesn't ring true. There is always an exception or two of course but I still cry B@@@@@@t

It's very hard to know if they are real first time reactions... what's the real motive behind some of these videos etc. etc... If you don't like a video... Watch something else... That's my advice to you... I like to dig into all of the aspects of Jethro Tull... Hell... It's hard to know if you are real... You could be one of the former members of The Jethro Tull board... Who knows? Or maybe you are something else... I'm from Denmark, or am I? Maybe you're just picking a fight? And before you get too excited, you must admit that I am right... You said it yourself... They called themselves "Elite" fans... Harassing anyone with a different opinion... Here we agree to disagree... A great place to be, and we seldom cry Bull$h1t...

At least they're not flogging Jethro Tull make-up or cheap clothes. We've had spammers from Vietnam trying it on with coffee making machines and "pen pals" (all deleted) so I'm waiting to see if this sudden arrival of these Tull listening videos increases in the near future. And yes I've come across these so called "elite" fans, all now banned from the Forum although one does try to rejoin under a different name ever so often.

I think that you made a good point. The video with the two girls, could be manipulation... come to think of it... but I don't believe that every one of these videos are manipulation. Ian has said again and again that he doesn't like Hippies. In a way I think that I understand why... Too many bad encounters with what he refers to as being Hippies? Maybe... but even Hippies are individuals, and Ian haven't met them all... I would have preferred if he had said something about the lifestyle that some of the so called "Hippies" have, if that's what he doesn't like, instead of saying that he hates all Hippies. But it's a really good point that you are making, and it makes me wonder...

Jethro Tull "Aqualung" REACTION & ANALYSIS by Vocal Coach / Opera Singer599,534 views Premiered May 11, 2021 The Charismatic Voice 746K subscribers One of the pioneers of progressive rock, I finally get to see Jethro Tull, and why our Patrons voted this song to the top of their March suggestion list. This performance by Ian Anderson and the rest of Jethro Tull was not only an audio feast, but a visual spectacle with such high quality for 1982 that I would have to thank the broadcaster ZDF as well for such an amazing job with the visual production.
"Aqualung" deals with our reaction to the homeless population, and is a guilt ridden song of confusion, guilt, distaste, awkwardness and the rest of our feelings. Having very close people in my life having lived through homelessness, the lyrics strike a particular chord with me.
Join professional opera singer Elizabeth Zharoff, as she listens to Jethro Tull for the very first time, performing "Aqualung” live from the Rockpop Concert in 1982 © ℗ 1982, Jethro Tull, ZDF Enterprises GmbH.

We have discussed these "reaction" videos before, but this guy is obviously a fan, Youtube is full of him listening to Tull. Hardy a "reaction" more like him sharing his enthusiasm for the band. Nothing wrong with that just don't pretend its a "reaction"
