Or was it The John Evans Blues Band? Just been flung back in time to the late 60’s when Ian Anderson took me to Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club where he was doing a gig. It was a big deal for Ian. (For those that don’t know I was his one time girlfriend. I really can’t remember if it was Ian and The John Evans Blues Band or Ian and Jethro Tull. I can’t remember if we were staying in Kentish Town or Luton or if we travelled up from Blackpool in the yellow transit van. Any way what sparked this memory? last night my son in law John Hogg played vocals at the same Ronnie Scott’s Jazz club, with Paul and Jeremy Stacey. Phenomenal performance I would say. On the same stage where Jimi Hendrix played his last gig. Only twenty allowed in the audience instead of the usual 200. Any Jimi Hendrix fans out there might like to catch the gig on u tube. Google u tube RETURN SESSIONS JIMI HENDRIX 50 YEARS ON WITH PAUL and JEREMY STACEY And of course JOHN HOGG. No idea how to paste a link. So if you might be interested you will have to google. WARNING. There is quite a long silence at the beginning before the sound is turned on. A little bit of swearing along the way too. Best to all. Yvonne (originally from Blackpool and a student at the Blackpool Technical College and School of Art where I spent an awful lot of my time experiencing Ian Anderson/Jethro Tull history and Ian Anderson spent an awful lot of time becoming a superb musician)

Hello Yvonne, lovely to see you post again and I hope your well. That must have been a range of emotions at Ronnie Scotts on the eve of the fiftieth anniversary of Jimi's death. As you say, listening to your talented son-in-law while also thinking back to sitting in the audience listening to Ian - great experiences and great memories. John Hogg One of my favourite photographs of Hendrix outside 34 Montagu Square, London, 1960's. The rather grumpy looking lady in the picture lived upstairs from Jimi and refused to give him the keys to the communal gardens for any photographs to be taken. She looks smug and Jimi looks amused.

Thank you for using your technical know how to get this up there and your responses too. Yes nostalgic on more than one level. Apparently Eric Burdon also played with Jimi Hendrix on that same stage.
