If all music file sharing stopped.......... a variety of adjustments would automatically happen in the marketplace. With there being so few music stores with a supply beyond just the most famous names and only their "BEST OF" CDs in stock, the distribution pathway would almost exclusively remain with websites and related software. While record companies might suspect they'd see it as a pure positive, I don't think it's that simple or clear of a result and not guaranteed to help the record companies either. Music stores have already been taken out of the equation for the most part. The equation isn't solved yet. It's awkward.
(In the news this week is another raid/attempt to end another torrent file sharing website (Torrentz). KickAss Torrents was taken offline recently, only to pop back up on a different server. There are many. There have been many attempts to take down The Pirate Bay and it's still operating online.
WHAT DO YOU SEE HAPPENING? WHAT WOULD YOU LIKE TO SEE HAPPEN, regarding music stores, music formats, file sharing/downloading, and how to serve all stakeholders in this game, especially the music fan seeking to discover new music at an affordable price?
maddogfagin: Is there any other ?

JTull 007: The Jethro Tull Forum is not on Facebook but there are some called The Jethro Tull Board or Group that have been quite abusive to TRUE TULL Fans. This Forum is very open minded and not so childish.

maddogfagin: Their jealousy and ignorance knows no bounds. Best ignore them - most sensible people do these days.

dryad: Hey, I'm shouting out because I can't figure out how to post in the "Hello, I'm new Here!" post. I cam over here looking for Samhain songs. I'll roll with "Songs From the Wood" if no one knows of something specific. I'll do the hello if I can figure it out

JTull 007: I'm not affected by RNRHOF decisions... The only thing that matters is how we all feel about TULL. These days it keeps me HAPPY just to know there is MORE to come !!!

JTull 007: To me it's like being picked by Dick Clark to be on American Bandstand. RNRHOF is about a tourist destination for Cleveland Ohio not a TRUE Hall of Fame.

jethrotull: As Ian used to say on the SFTW tour "almost indistinguishable from the master tapes playing behind the stage". Clive James clearly loathed Ian Anderson and did manage to expose some of Ian's self-important pretentiousness.
