FARGOFILM NOIR COEN BROTHERS JETHRO TULL " I do like the Coen brothers' wintry ones... ....it's the kind of old, grey city snow that car exhaust stains brown and gets into your boots on the long trudge home. I think we can be even more precise than that: it's the kind of snow you see covering the East Village street walked by Bob Dylan, arm-in-arm with Suzy Rotolo, on the cover on Freewheelin', as dawn breaks behind them... ....New York just in time to glimpse Dylan is playing at the Gaslight Café on an epoch-making night when the New York Times catches his act, which is a bit like Jethro Tull turning up to see the first train pull away from the station....." www.theguardian.com/film/2013/dec/05/inside-llewyn-davis-review-coen-brothers

And ride with us, young bonny lass with the angels of the night. Crack wind clatter - flesh rein bite on an out-size unicorn. Rough-shod winging sky blue flight on a cold wind to Valhalla. And join with us, please - Valkyrie maidens cry above the cold wind to Valhalla.Last December, Morten Skovsby found a small face peering up at him from a lump of frozen dirt. He'd been working with a group of amateur archaeologists using a metal detector near the village of Hårby in Denmark. His find, cleaned up, was an intricately detailed amulet made of gilded silver, about an inch tall, in the shape of a beautiful woman with long hair twisted into a ponytail. She carried a sword and shield. She was immediately dubbed a "valkyrie." Why? nancymariebrown.blogspot.co.uk/2013/03/valkyrie-or-shield-maiden.html

" Hello my lady"
" dressed in white"
" pass the plate to all who hunger"
" please help me through my winter's night"

The angry waves grow high - cut icy teeth on northern shores Brave fires flicker, cough - give way to winds through broken doors And with the last line almost drawn - wish you goodbye till further on

Wood smoke curled from blackened chimneys. The smell of frost was in the air. Two of my favourite lines

She wore a black tiara, rare gems upon her fingers And she came from distant waters, where northern lights explode To celebrate the dawning of the new wastes of winter Gathering royal momentum on the icy road
With chill mists swirling, like petticoats in motion Sighted on horizons for ten thousand years The lady of the ice sounds a deathly distant rumble Titanic breaking children lost in melting crystal tears

I believe in fires at midnight.. through (the) long December nights. A golden toddy on the mantle, embers glowing and twinkling lights.
Love this video

A Winter’s Snowscape has to be one of the finest instrumentulls that they’ve done. I find it interesting ( there are no conspiracies but there are no coincidences) that the very last Tull song played and released with Martin was a Martin composition.

Regardless, Martin Barre was on tour with TULL and other solo performances till late 2011. All bands experience change unless they stay stuck in a musical time warp.
