"What Happened To Gerald Bostock?"
I think would have been better but then, I suppose, marketing would argue that TAAB1 should be in there somewhere.

I think TAAB II is pretty good...tells you what you need to know about the sequel nature of this release...a cute, Tull-insider name could have been: 'Later that same lifetime'.

Whatever Happened To Gerald Bostock - Later That Lifetime *thumbs up* or Banker, Failure, Soldier, Guy
It's not just the actual name though, it's setting the board quite high calling it TAAB2 especially after a huge gap and as someone else said, great an album that it is, it won't be remembered in the same league as the original.

Not happy with the title - I agree, it's not in the same league - it's not a JT Album therefore it shouldn't be titled after one. I know I've gotten to be a hard-arse' about this project, or the way it's titled, it's lack of (to me) an 'audible challenging sound', it's suitability (to me at least) that it would have been better as an exclusive IA release with NO connection title-wise to TAAB. I still don't call it a great album - a great album IS TAAB, and furthermore, the idea that the TAAB Vinyl re-release-remaster on vinyl will come with TAAB2 is really chapping my already itchy arse' !!!!!! I mean, come on IA!!! WTF!!! Since when is TAAB2 considered a 'classic'....... ?? How about.... 'I Walk the Line'. Or, 'Which Road to Take?' Or, 'Fork in the Road'. Or, 'Roll of the Dice'. Or, 'Make Up Your Mind'. Or, 'What's Behind Curtain Number 1,2,3,4? ' Or, 'Paralysis From Over-analysis'. Or, 'Seemed Like a Good Idea at the Time'. Or, how about - 'Often Imitated, Never Duplicated'. Or calling the vinyl - 'Two for the Price of One!!' Or, 'Done That One Already'. I can't wait for Aqualung2 !!!! (smiley face here)

Random crap; My TAAB2 favourites blend well with the best of Tull from '89 onward & the HHorses song is cool after A Change Of Horses. My mixed CDR does not lie. El Niño holds up well to TAAB2. TAAB2 does not really jive with the original TAAB for me. As for other titles; Ian Anderson plays the Power and the Spirit of Jethro Tull Jethro Tull Changes Horses (too true) More crap; I still say TAABtoo would have worked better than Led Zeppelin II or any other '2' album. Brick Thinking - Ian Anderson says TAAB was a joke, TAAB2 is too serious in parts to follow a joke.

(smiley face here) I think it's a great album by Ian Anderson and fellow musicians. It's content has the Anderson trademarks and magic. It's where he's at now and don't forget it was a surprise as well. There's no however coming up just that I, personally, am taking the pledge not to compare anything he produces with anything he ever has because it all boils down to personal choice. I'm all up for debate tho

The subtitle 'Whatever Happened to Gerald Bostock' would perhaps have been a more appropriate title. This isn't TAAB2 anymore than APP was. But I quite understand the marketing strategies and an excellent album might otherwise have been overlooked by many Tull fans (old and new) had it been otherwise titled (and released very clearly as a solo Ian album).
I'm not complaining
And let's face it, it's a lot less cynical than calling a Meatloaf album full of cover versions and new songs written by people other than Jim Steinman 'Bat Out of Hell 3" !!!!

Hey, IA can do whatever he wants (or is 'encouraged' to do) and more power to him for that. Everyone has different tastes in 'Tulldom' - I usually, and have always at least to this TAAB2 idea, treated each JT and IA effort as it's own.
By calling this TAAB2 AND now bundling it alongside the TAAB Vinyl Remaster I really think that it's 'open season' for all kinds of conversing. I know I'm more 'crabby-arsed' about having to buy TAAB with TAAB2 attached than by anything else. Come-on, IA, draw a line in the sand somewhere that keeps them separated....because it's too late to call it something else. That is to my little patch of sand, BS marketing.
