I can appreciate the “enthusiasm” re this album, but it’s nearly as “‘80s”-sounding as UW. Loud guitars, and melody is for the most part MIA. But, like I said, there’s obvious effort put forth here.

I suppose it was recorded in the 80's lol. Great songs ,Broadsword,Clasp,Seal Driver,Slow Marching Band etc make it a great effort imo.lol Looking forward to the 40th anniversary version

Is it still July 2023? Although the Broadsword track still continues to give me goosebumps (and, to agree with the Vernacular Verbose podcasts - you can't argue with the goosebumps )

Official news in from Warners Music: This year marks the 40th anniversary of The Broadsword And The Beast album, and we have two excellent sets coming your way. Unfortunately due to some delays in manufacturing in vinyl they won’t be here until next summer, and won’t make the 40th anniversary. But there is plenty planned before then, so stay tuned…! Apologies but the huge amount of bonus material should make the wait worth it.....

ZG was marred by the cover. I am hoping for a great album cover for the next Lp.

Me too, something old, something new.....skip the borrowed and blue. Oh, I'd be happy with blue(s), and I think we can say that when Ian's previously borrowed, eg. from Mr J S Bach, then that's been pretty successful I must admit, there are quite a few song titles on the extras that I don't recognise, so I'm also looking forward to hearing something old that is new to me But mostly, I want to borrow my husband's expensive headphones and listen to Broadsword in its full glory, followed by a trip out in the SLK with the roof down so everyone else in the neighbourhood can appreciate it (fortunately, we're moving soon!)

We should get the official release any day now. Can’t wait to have book set number 14 in my collection. Gladly the production sound has been improved. At least 3 albums of studio tunes all with improved production

It was B&TB that brought me back to the fold when it first came out, and it might work its magic again

Oh, come come — it’s not that much of an ouch! It’s less than you’d spend on a single night out in town!
Personally I think 5 discs of music, totalling no less than six hours in all, to say nothing of the three DVDs of 5.1 goodness and beyond, at £60 represents excellent VFM. To give a comparator, I spent £65 on the recent T.Rex 1973 box set, which consists of four CDs and a book — a tad pricy, I thought, but great all the same.
I’d like anyone to name a box set of comparable size, with as much research, remixing, restoration and writing done on it as the Broadsword Monster Set while costing anywhere near as little. There’s no-one to touch Tull in the reissue department! It’s a steal.
