Gotta get my ten year old in with your crew someday. She's an only child in my house, 4 days a week, and has siblings aged 25, 21 and 20 in her Mom's house the other three days so I bet your home fulla girls would impress her. Secret club? Old school social workers with one or more daughters?

Agreed. I know there was another Tull forum I was tooling around on, but honestly I don't even remember what it was, or how to log in. Shrug, for the best, I'm pretty darn happy here. Everyone is so welcoming and supportive. Good stuff! Gotta get my ten year old in with your crew someday. She's an only child in my house, 4 days a week, and has siblings aged 25, 21 and 20 in her Mom's house the other three days so I bet your home fulla girls would impress her. Secret club? Old school social workers with one or more daughters? How close do you live to New Jersey? We can definitely make it happen, she'll have to suffer through My Little Pony games, Barbies, Disney shows (I forget the shows), and other girly stuff -- we can have a stout or two while they play! Super secret club of old school social workers with daughters and who dig Jethro Tull sounds like a perfect one for me! --Ron--

What made my week is making my eternity, I've decided to not accept the daily or regional cares of the world and just get on with my creative projects, because I think, going forward, the only way to stay sane and progressing, is to take a global view of things and take human affairs with a light touch. We're in for 200 years of huge adjustments, of huge disruption, YET the way to sanity and progress is through participation of creativity from authentic presence, not through getting stressed and sinking into worry or attitudes that only belong to something else's yesterday. I spent the morning shaking off the feeling of history on my shoulder and I feel better now. And I WILL have a tea. Which type? First one I find is perfectomundo.

I like your thoughts futureshock - I deliberately decided to let our house move "chug" along and not to get stressed out and it seems to have worked. As for tea - a good British breakfast tea would be my tiple of choice and Twinigs is a good brand and although not everybody's choice, is to be recommended. www.twinings.co.uk/tea/english-breakfast

I too like your way of thinking and the way it makes me think too. I'm not sure but I think humans are unique amongst animals in that they we have creativity and that in itself is a great use of our brainpower. It's no coincidence that once we get the "basics" out the way ie child rearing, careers etc that we turn to more creative pursuits in life like appreciating/visiting great treasures of human creativity. It's a damn shame that children aren't encouraged more at school to be creative. I think that it would help with development in all aspects. I'm firmly in the " the web is great but not in a 24 hour use of our time" way. As you say Futureshock we're in for a very interesting time in the next 200 hundred years. Wish you were there?

This is very Pagan, Celtic, Broadswordy you get my drift. It's Elaine Morgan with her band 'Rose Amongst Thorns' - I saw Elaine support Fairport sometime back in the 1990's - she guest sang on 'Meet on the Ledge'. I really like the guitar bit around 3 mins in. Anyway have a listen if you want - its not my usual fare but thought it sounded great on the i pod last night, while relaxing with a cold pint and some chilli doritos ( Chilli is spelt properly I'll dedicate this to Ms Non Rabbit ( Just thought it was her cup of tea ) Hope I'm right OnePaganDuck

I listened without the aid of a cold beer and a bag of Doritos and it still hit the spot. I reckon us Celts get all emotional at the change of the season/s and I truly mean that. It's in our water, our bones, our heritage and our soul. Celtic lands are mainly on the west of the British Isles and therefore we're bombarded ( sometimes on an hourly basis) by the changing weather and that in return makes for some dramatic changes in nature. We worshipped the land and all it offered and I also think that we have underestimated exactly how much an effect the weather and seasons have on us in this modern, enclosed world. See what you started Duck Anyho here's a medievalist/pagan folk song. We know a band that has been called medievalist rock don't we? among other things.

I've received an over payment on my gas bill and I've spent it all on a season ticket to watch my beloved Durham County Cricket club this summer. An extremely good use of your refund John. Congratulations to Australia on winning the cricket World Cup.

OneWhiteLighteningDuck I've got to agree with you about bringing back Ben Stokes. I'm sure England would have done a lot better with him in the side. I'm supposing you mean Graham Onions as the "quickie" who sadly missed most of last season through injury? Cricket lovely Cricket! Uploaded by ThejaliMe24

Durham bowled Middlesex out for 89 runs today. Anybody who doesn't understand the rules of cricket here's a quick run down.......... You have two sides, one out in the field and one in. Each man that's in the side that's in goes out, and when he's out he comes in and the next man goes in until he's out. When they are all out, the side that's out comes in and the side that's been in goes out and tries to get those coming in, out. Sometimes you get men still in and not out. When a man goes out to go in, the men who are out try to get him out, and when he is out he goes in and the next man in goes out and goes in. There are two men called umpires who stay out all the time and they decide when the men who are in are out. When both sides have been in and all the men have been out, and both sides have been out twice after all the men have been in, including those who are not out, that is the end of the game

Had to buy a new mobile - cellphone AND a brand new contract. For me that is like walking into a cricket shop in China. Don't understand the contents nor the language. However a delightful youth, by the name of Darren talked me through the maze of words, gadgets and gizmos ( having to repeat himself many times) I left the shop with my (new) phone tucked underneath my arm, my beaming smiles and the book of rules after thanking him and praising him to the high heavens for his patience and detailed instructions.

2 things. 1. I watched Durham cricket team win there 3rd game of the season. 2. I went walking with my new found hiking friends at the weekend on a mostly uphill walk which I admit nearly killed me but, I did it and here's the proof with me in the middle. My legs still hurt though. Wasn't that welsh duck chap going to drag a piano or something up a mountain and play a Tull song. Or was I dreaming?

John Bunkerfan.
Had to put it on hold. (The walk up Pen-Y-Fan)
I'm a bit injured at the moment and waiting to see a shoulder specialist (both of them as pretty f***ed). No cricket for me this summer apart from The Ashes in Cardiff!
Cheers
Welsh Duck Chap
PS. La Grande Edition is off the scale brilliant.

Another member of the Forum statin club The first lot I had didn't do much good except give me some rather unexpected side effects so the quack changed them for a milder dose which seem to do the trick, fingers crossed. Can't say I'll be running alongside Martin in any marathon though.

Interesting comment in the booklet about the work done to cover up the "tape changing" during the original concert and the edits used to patch things up from the following days playing. Haven't spotted the edits yet although I sure someone will most likely make a youtube of them ?
