Saw Buddy Whittington yesterday, it made my year. I've heard good reports about BW and is on the list to investigate. Doesn't get to play these parts but I live in hope.

Went out for Sunday lunch at my local pub and after a couple of pints of Black Sheep I was tucking in to my roast lamb when Soltice Bells began to play from the pubs sound system. Oh, and the wife paid the bill.

I took my car for annual service and MOT yesterday and when I collected it the guy at the garage read a list of jobs that needed doing and the bill would be £476.00. The good news is he told me it's all covered on the warranty. Phew!

At 10pm last night I switched off all our lights and lit a candle in commemoration of the start of WW1 and to remember the terrible loss of life. I looked out of the window to find all my neighbours had done the same. It brought a lump to my throat and made me very proud and humble.

Probably the wrong thread. Im not an audiophile thats my brother. My current earphones are faulty so I asked him to recommended replacements that were reasonable price. I was surprised when he recommended the one in the link - Beyerdynamics ( he said something about not putting thinks in your ears because they dont allow the tiny hairs to move or something blah de blah de ............ and you should wear headphones )I thought he would suggest something costing £600!! Anyway I bought a pair of these and all I can says is they blow the doors off Bang and Olufson's. Thet are stunningly good. I mean bloody outstanding. www.whathifi.com/beyerdynamic/dtx-101-ie/reviewPS I dont work for Beyer just thought I'd post something informative for a change. OWD

Not too loud now - I don't use headphones because of the damage they can cause. I need my ears to make sure the next Tull is glitch free. REALLY - ignore me and enjoy!

My week just made seeing the new 'This isn't the Way Ian Planned It' which describes our humble, happy Tull treehouse forum as official partners with the Dutch fan Club. Very Cool thinks me

As some here might be aware, the Memsaab and I are moving to a smaller abode in the very near future and I've been sorting out tons of stuff to clear, including folders of artwork proofs and prints that I was involved in many years ago in my first career as a technical illustrator and book designer. So I've today worked my way down an immense pile of faded artwork prints etc which will be disposed of (keeping a few pieces no doubt) but lo and behold at the bottom of said pile were some old Melody Maker and Sounds music papers which I'd forgotten about. Most are from the very early eighties and will mean plenty of reading material for the evenings in the near future no doubt. A quick look through and guess what - no mention of Tull but I live in hope.
Interesting reading are the articles on what was classed as hi fi back then, plenty of ads for Maxell, TDK and Sony cassettes and extremely large and cumbersome music centres and also pages of "What's on" ads etc.
I'll report back in a few months should I find anything of interest but don't hold your hopes up in me finding a "lost" article about Tull or IA.

Cool! Interesting;>) now I use Maxell CD-Rs, a TDK CD recorder & a Sony blu-ray player. Who Knows Where the Time Goes?

My home made chips. Fed up with the De Longhi deep crap fryer I got my gran's large old pan out of the garage and bought three blocks of lard got it going and bingo. Proper Chips ( no they are not fries they are Chips )
PS. not on their own of course I had to have three sausage, egg and beans(with chilli flakes added) to make it worthwhile.
Just thought I'd share that with you ( or not ) - geddit

Unfortunately while they were attending they spotted our chip pan and ordered my wife to throw it out and get a deep fat fryer. The chips were never the same so after about a year using that smelly deep fat fryer I went out and bought a proper chip pan. Result perfect tasty chips.

This is is long overdue, but finding this site made my week! What reminded me of this thread was someone being particularly helpful to me this week. Going out of their way to help an IT dunce figure things out on the Internet and on my computer. As Dr. McCoy would say, I'm just an old country social worker, not a computer techie guy! But anyway I wanted to send a big shout out, and a bigger thanks to Remy for being awesome. You rock!! --Ron--

Enjoy Bernie! I'm a stay-at-home dad all next week because the missus is away with her aunts. I have four daughters, but the oldest just turned 13yo, and my youngest is 4yo.
