Does anyone know the definitive answer as to whether it is IA playing this theme tune. No matter how many times I hear it I've yet to make up my mind. Some of the tune has a distinct feeling of "Blood of the British" about it which means it could have Dave/Dee Palmers influence and if it isn't IA playing then who is it? Anyone any ideas or thoughts on the issue?

This has often puzzled me as drive is in the credits as composed by Ian Anderson. Ian denies it despite reports at the time that he was involved in a Walt disney movie. The bulk of the movie was scored by Carter Burwell If you check out the link below and listen to the MP3s much of it sounds like Drive . some really lovely flute tunes www.carterburwell.com/projects/Mystery_Alaska.shtmlSo is Drive a collaboration between Ian and Carter Burwell ? Why isnt Drive mentioned on his page ?

Thanks for the link prestonplatform. I was told that as IA can't remember what he had for breakfast on any given day that if he did play on the score then he probably can't remember ! Still it's a great piece of music and I've yet to see the film as I missed it the last time it was on Sky movies and switched on the television only to see the closing credits. Still think that the "Blood of the British" score was some sort of inspiration. Anyone else remember the TV programme where the original short version of "Coronach" sung by IA was used over the closing credits, and an instrumental version which was used at the start of the programme. Just realised it was over 20 years ago when it was on TV - doesn't time fly.

Yes I think you're right there. In league with the composer Jeff Danna if my sources are correct. Methinks that there could be other IA items we don't know about and some we do such as the Mandoki stuff which seems never ending!
