I bet he'll keep mixing it up for a while. Martin doesn't sound like he wants to quit anytime soon, so we have to have Tull for Martin. He (Ian) can keep his acoustic side appeased by doing his solo shows. The last one he did where he spent much of the time seated on a stool, seemed to be a way better approach regarding his voice. Plus, he gave young Florian and whichever tantalizing, nubile femme fatale he has touring with them chances to shine....giving him more time to rest. I hope he keeps doing that style cuz my naive belief is that he will be able to carry on in both settings longer IF he has some quieter outings.

I think that's true Blue ( both himself and Barre don't give the impression on stage of giving up too soon. I suppose he' marketing two different live acts now solo and the band and although I would like to see a Tull concert which is not so predictible it's the old chestnut that most people will expect Lung and Loco at anything billed Jethro Tull. Maybe a bigger name as a special guest or something like the guests he had on the 40th?

I sometimes think we are already in the 'bonus round' and should be grateful that Ian is still inspired and willing to tour and write. I don't expect his career to end in a predictable fashion with the public involved....no advertised farewell tour, no emotional last lap thru the world...when we least expect it, after a too harrowinf close call on an airplane or in a dangerous country...or when a routine check up uncovers an ailment best treated with rest and age appropriate activites (rocking in a chair etc) Ian will simple consult with his family and call it a day. I hope it isn't soon, but to be fair, Tull has given a lifetime's worth of musical joy and Ian has run up more miles on the touring odometer than any of my other teen year favorites...I won't be suing him for non-support nor malpractice when he's has enough...I do, however, hope he shares the leftovers when he cleans out the studio to make room for the golden years den.

Oh, I certainly pray he does dish out the leftovers.
If not him, I'm sure one of the guys will.
