Yeah, I worry any time I see "infused" or "fruity" on my beers. I like my beer infused with hops. --Ron--

Looks a lovely pub Graham - I'll meet you there for lunch today! Mind you I had a couple of " That'd be stranger" looks when I entered a few out of the way Cornish pubs back in the day. i68.images obliterated by tinypic/ixfl1z.jpg[/IMG] i63.images obliterated by tinypic/316x1zs.jpg[/IMG]

For a pint or 2 of that beer it might be worth investing in one of these. Can you get done for being drunk in charge of a canoe? No tip? No charge for keeping the canoe full of beer. Canoe on a keg, no problem. www.thebeerstore.ca/beers/cracked-canoeCracked Canoe Lager brewed in Canada. Category: Domestic Specialty Brewer: Moosehead Breweries Limited Alcohol Content (ABV): 3.5% Cracked Canoe is a light beer brewed with independent spirit and full-bodied taste. Aged longer to impart its unique flavor, unlike other light beers, Cracked Canoe offers the simplicity of a light lager without compromising on taste. Proudly brewed by Moosehead, Canada's oldest independent brewery. Moosehead’s Cracked Canoe is a godsend among tasteless, low-calorie beer

This looks very interesting... Anyone try this before ?November 29th, 2013 - Stand Up And Welcome Winter! Winter Ale LINK Good evening! The Meista here tonight pairing a couple classics... with the cold fingers of winter reaching out to us, I'm pairing Jethro Tull's "Stand Up" and a Winters Welcome Ale from Samuel Smith Old Brewery (Tadcaster)! And this pairing is dedicated to my nephew and fellow Tull fan and craft beer fan, Mikey! Cheers buddy!!
Considered a "Winter Warmer," the Winters Welcome Ale from Samuel Smith Old Brewery (Tadcaster) is a full-bodied, malty, and sweet ale, perfect for the cold months of winter! The Winters Welcome Ale pours an almost clear deep copper amber with a very thin head. The nose is characterized by roasted malts, caramel notes, and a hint of spice. The flavor is a wonderful balance of sweet malts and sharper slightly bitter, whole-dried hops... Fuggle and Golding to be exact. There's a an interesting fruitiness to the ale as well... spiced apple and pear. With these intermingling, well-balanced flavors, "Stand Up" seemed the perfect match...
"Stand Up" is the second album by British rockers Jethro Tull and was released in 1969... and may very well be my favorite of the band. Combining jazz, Celtic folk, classical symphonic, and heavy experimental blues and rock elements, "Stand Up" is a full-bodied and rich album, an album that really defined the Jethro Tull sound and the first that frontman Ian Anderson was in full control of the writing of both the music and lyrics. It was also the first album to feature guitarist Martin Barre (after Mick Abrahams' sudden resignation due to musical differences with Anderson). The amazing track "A New Day Yesterday" opens the album and the fantastic musical journey continues from there... with other amazing tracks like "Jeffery Goes To Leicester Square," "Back To The Family," "Fat Man," "Reasons For Waiting," and "For A Thousand Mothers" among others!
Cheers and good evening my friends!!

It is with great sadness to write this post on a beer I do not recommend. It's beer that tastes of tea. I would like to advise you either drink beer or a cup of tea but not together. I've been giving the Allendale brewery another try after my disaster with the tea beer and I'm pleased to say I forgive them because I've tried these two and I'm impressed. I'm going to search for the next two from the Allendale brewery. I hope I don't have to wait long.

I had a good glug of this fine stout last night and I'm pleased to say...........I like it. I wouldn't argue with this description. Allendale Tar Barl Stout Beer Tar Bar’l (colloquialism for Barrel) Stout is a very dark traditional style stout with a creamy brown head. Brewed to commemorate the famous Tar Bar’l celebrations of Allendale when the ‘Guisers’ (long established men of the village) carry flaming barrels of tar on their heads before throwing them on a bonfire in the very centre of the village on New-Year’s eve. The Tar Bar’l is smooth and rich with coffee and chocolate flavours. abv 4.5%

Great picks for Asheville Beer Week It’s here. Asheville’s nationally famous craft beer community gets to shine during the fifth annual Asheville Beer Week, May 27-June 4, with 60-plus events around Asheville and beyond. While almost any week in Asheville could be called beer week, this stretch brings some impressive events including festivals, beer and food pairings, new releases, the opening of a new rooftop beer garden, a special baseball game and more. Just back from the pub after sampling this very nice beer. I'm not sure if it's available countrywide so you may have to come to the North East and buy me another pint.

Denis Holliday, brewer – obituaryDenis Holliday, who has died aged 99, was head brewer of Eldridge Pope’s Dorchester brewery for nearly 30 years, winning, in June 1972 a record seven International Brewing Awards, the “Oscars” of the beer industry, at the London Brewers Exhibition, and winning a place in the Guinness Book of Records after brewing the strongest beer in the world. Holliday developed the recipe for the beer – 13.1 per cent alcohol by volume, over three times the strength of IPA – recalling that the process had not been easy: “The strong alcohol kills the yeast, so you have to keep adding more as the ale matures in a tank over six months,” he told an interviewer. RIP Mr Holliday If you've had a life of brewing and no doubt drinking beer and live for 99 years then I'm encouraged.

The successful candidate will be required on one day per month to taste up to 40 craft beers at the Walled City Brewery in Londonderry. I'll put my name down as I can spare one day a month. I'd spend 6 hours drinking beer and 2 hours in the toilet.
