Hi, just joined the forum. Managed to get down to see the band at Bristol Colston Hall on Friday night and got there just in time for the start. The set list seems pretty similar to others on the tour with a few exceptions and additions. Special guest was Seth Lakeman, and a fine musician he is too. He joined Tull where they performed two songs, Kitty Jay & a new one. He then returned for the encore to play fiddle on Locomotive Breath. This was one of the best Tull shows that I have seen in recent years. I treated myself to a program and a T-shirt - my old Catfish Rising one needed updating! Some pictures can be seen here; www.classicrockphotography.com in the archive section. Cheers Rich

Good gig in Bristol, setlist is a real departure from recent years. Seth Lakeman was good. Martin was on top form and nice and loud. As expected though, Giddings and Noyce were much missed, the current line-up is simply not as good.

Thanks guys, anyone care to have a guestimation of the set list? I am a big Seth Lakeman fan too, I am extremely jealous lol. I hope some of that turns up on youtube.
Oh, and welcome to the forum too of course, make yourselves at home :-)

The URL for the photos is www.classicrockphotography.co.uk Took me a little while to work that one out! Excellent shots though, the first proffesional pics I've seen from the tour. There's also a few shots of Ian and Martin at Dave Peggs 60th birthday bash too.

Went to the Bristol gig and as Cardiff Tull were on great form. I have always liked Giddings and Noyce but musically, on the two gigs I have seen, they were not missed. This is the best Tull have played for a long time and you have to give credit where it is due. Martin and Doane seemed refreshed and have been playing superbly. John and Dave are very high quality musicians and have slotted in with ease. Brilliant gigs!!

Bristol Set List 18/04/08 My Sunday Feeling, Living In The Past, One For John Gee, A Song For Jeffrey, So Much Trouble, Nursie, Serenade To A Cuckoo, Sossity/Reasons For Waiting, Beside Myself, A New Day Yesterday, Bourée For A Thousand Mothers, Blood Red Sky, (W/ Seth Lakeman) Kitty Jay, (W/ Seth Lakeman) Dharma For One, Heavy Horses, Farm On The Freeway, Thick As A Brick, Aqualung, Locomotive Breath (W/ Seth Lakeman) Here we go again with non-Tull material played during a Tull show. As far as I'm concerned the music of Seth Lakeman should not be played at a Tull show, just like Lucia's music should not have been played at the Tull shows a few years back. I have nothing against these guests joining Tull on stage, and I think Lucia would make a great permanent addition to Tull, but every note that emanates from these guest artists should be Jethro Tull material.
