More progressive rock music this time with the flamboyant Ian Anderson at front. Here is some notes about the tape and the show.
Spacey's notes... Not only is this a gorgeous show from Jethro Tull at their peak, the recording is absolutely fantastic as well. A few minor distortions (hmm, could it be that they played LOUD?) don't distract the ambience of an awesome clean tape. As a taper myself, I still wonder how dear Jˆrg managed to record in this amazing quality; I think none could've done it better with all our modern gear these days. A truly historical tape which had to be set free (for all) with no financial interest. All guys included here done it with our pure love for good music. Thank you Jˆrg, Doc Tinker, Krautbeard and Hanwaker (Technical Advisor). All worth the efforts and endless phonecalls. I'm very pleased with this. SB
So thanks to you guys and let me share this great recording to you out there.

RARE Jethro Tull 1972 tour in Japan photos (Thick As A Brick) PaulHartXYZ Jethro Tull visited Japan for the first time ever in July 1972, during the THICK AS A BRICK tour. They played two sold out shows in Tokyo and one in Osaka. Japanese photographer, Midori Natsukawa, caught Tull at Toyko International Airport as they were leaving Japan to head back to England for a much-deserved three month rest... during which Ian would start writing the music for the Chateau D'Isaster tapes. Here, you can see the boys waiting on line to check in their luggage. (Nice shots Ian, Barriemore, John and Jeffrey.) Hey, where's Martin? Ian was in his USUAL all black attire. He only wore black off-stage during the whole progressive era of Tull. Interesting. Hey Ian... it's JULY!!!! Also, I'm amazed Midori was able to get the normally camera-shy Jeffrey Hammond to pose for a pic. LOL As we can see, Ian checks in all his luggage except for one piece... his prized possession... his acoustic guitar. No way he was gonna let it go in the jet's cargo compartment. You know how those baggage handlers throw luggage around. Wonder if Ian strummed any tunes on the LONG flight home. (Really don't mind if you sit this one out.)

Christmas Song (1972 Original) We now present Jethro Tull's "Christmas Song", an adaptation of the classic Christmas carol, "Once In Royal David City". The lyrics were originally penned in a poem written by Miss Cecil Frances Humphrey in 1848, which was set to music a year later by Henry John Gauntlet. "Christmas Song" can be found on Jethro Tull's 1972 album, "Living In The Past". This version, composed by Tull's frontman, Ian Anderson, reflects on the true meaning of Christmas (the birth of Jesus Christ) and reminds us that the holiday season was never intended to be celebrated by an overindulgence of food and drink, but rather, by sharing our abundant blessings with those less fortunate than ourselves. This was my first attempt at publishing a video, so it may be fairly crude compared to what you're used to seeing, but I hope that the clips I've put together help to reinforce what Ian and his band mates were trying to get across. This year, find a way to share something with someone you don't even know, and don't wait around to be recognized for it.
You'll wake up on Christmas morning with a wonderful feeling of contentment and hope for our world. Peace be with you all in this joyous holiday season!
