Its just a thought, if he did he'd get a good idea what his core fanbase is thinking! Being a very new member its very refreshing to know that not everything the band does is met with universal approval!

very true! I'll bet more often than you think as well especially after the Q&A. I've also seen a few posts over the last couple of years that have made me think that the posters are in the know about the band in some way. Which brings me to the question that was asked about 2 years ago now as well; Did he ever take a peep at the Live Chat on the official site?

I wouldn't be surprised if Ian read our posts now and then. I wouldn't be surprised if Ian never read our posts. We know he knows of us from the questions that got gratifyingly promoted to the Tull site. I imagine that Ian, as well as almost all famous people, appoint or hire somebody or some agency, like the pressclipping services of 50's Hollywood, to look for and investigate anything on the web that might smell of potential danger to him or his family.

I don't know if IA peeks at this forum but many years ago when we held the first UK Convention in Hillingdon he sent dear Kenny Wylie to suss out the event so I wouldn't be at all surprised if either Shona or IA has a look now and again. Likely to be Shona I reckon ;D

Who knows? Having been gracious enough to answer our questions he certainly knows we exist. But best to mind our P's & Q's just in case!

Not that we'll ever find out...but I bet it would be interesting to learn about the real nutters that had to sorted out or watched carefully by Tull staff in the past lest they do some harm...Ian, along with Zappa, Beefhart, obviously Lennon and many others, was a lightning rod for some seriously deranged individuals who were sure they were getting secret messages, through their foil-lined hats, from the lyrics or stage antics.....I wonder how many such cases had to be intercepted before they threw themselves on Ians feet onstage or whatever. Obviously a topic surounded by confidentiality but still curiosity arousing, no?

Interesting thought. Have met a couple of "fans" over the years who thought Tull was "their band" and no one elses. One such person had, litrally, a shrine in their front room. I half expected them to bow down in front of it

I met a street person schizophrenic, here in SF, who called himself ian Anderson--even wrote it over his picture on his ID and had a long, rambling schtick about being driven from the stage after Passion Play..to explain why he was living in the streets etc etc and hiding from his numerous, unspecified, enemies. he wore eye make-up...played a bit of recorder and panhandled in the chinatown area.

I asked him why he wanted to know that and he said he MUST have the same weight. Problem was: He was much taller than Mr. A. So this guy stopped eating and he was seriously ill, lost his job, got an alcohol problem, got divorced, ... Same guy at a gig in Beyreuth: There were far too many people at the venue and you could not get anything to drink after the intervall. No beer, no water, no coke, nothing, everything was sold out. During the gig I was in the front row and after the encore I was so thirsty that I nearly collapsed. Kenny Wylie did his job on stage and I asked him, if he could get me some water from backstage. He turned around, got a bottle from the stage and handed it over to me. I opened it, it was close to my mouth, when this guy grabbed it and shouted at me: "WHAT ARE YOU DOING? THIS IS IAN`S BOTTLE." I said: "I give a sh... I´m thirsty." So I got it back, emptied it and threw it in the next dustbin. The guy jump behind and got it out again. I´m sure it has a special place in his shrine now and he gets it out when he has a headache to fill it with water so it can become Holy Water. Back to topic: Who cares?
