Hi Jethro tull fans, My name is Roland posting from France, 57 years old. I'm a Tull fan amongst other bands and in particular with the 1970 Isle Of Wight festival, where I attended to. Jethro Tull gave us a very good concert there on the Sunday evening 30/08/1970 in between the Moody Blues and Jimi Hendrix. I was in the arena. The raison I have join this forum (and I hope you wont mind) is because "the 40th anniversary for everything spirit" I have put online a forum dedicated to the festival called "THE LAST GREAT EVENT" here's the address isleofwightfestival1970.da-forum.com/The forum is in English and as already 19 members who have started to chat on the event. Please forgive me if I have been an intruder, but I beleive that the forum would be of interest to some 1970 I.o.W festival veterants, and it's also within main subject of this forum "Jethro Tull" Thank you and hope to read you on "THE LAST GREAT FESTIVAL" Roland

Weather's been pretty good so far, I'm south near Nice/Cannes, up on the hills.
Yes, the site's a good idea, hard work to promote it. Would you have any tips to give me ?

Sounds a glorious location ;D Tips? Well I think if your posting/chatting about something you have a passion for like minded people will join in! as you say the promoting part is hard work ! Some will like to view only and be regular viewers Q an A's are a good thing too and personally speaking I like pics ;D and plenty of them. It's amazing what you come across when your not looking and in the most unexpected places. eg. off the top of my head, I would imagine if you googled Isle of Wight tourism late 60's/early 70's or even in another format, you would find some good pics. All the Best and it's good to link up like minded sites

Thanks for the tips nonrabbit. I've been downloaded pics and stuff for ages now, I have loads on my hard drive, I also have scanned lots of music paper articles, all this is ready to feed the I.o.W forum. There're several member collectors on the forum, who will be feedind too. It will soon be a goldmine for early I.o.W festivals

Hi Roland It gets addictive too - searching for the perfect picture I know of at least one of our Forum members who was at the IOW festival haven't seen him for last couple of days but he will be thrilled with your site. I'm off work today, so after coming back from Co Donegal - Ballyshannon to be exact ( birthplace of Rory Gallagher) I'll pop over to your place - glass o' red wine please !!
