What "fishy" news item, from August 2010, links Jethro Tull, Jimi Hendrix & Joni Mitchell ? And no, it's nothing to do with salmon farms.

I know this whooo ............ they are the names of three seals at the sea life centre in Scarborough . . . 100% correct Mr Duck. From 12 August 2010 Three seemingly abandoned seal pups have arrived at the Scarborough Sea Life Centre. They were all rescued within the space of a week.
The pups are currently undergoing treatment in the Seal Rescue Centre attached to the Scarborough attraction.
They weighed just 9kg each, 11kg under their ideal weight, when they were found.
The pups will be released when they reach 35kg and have a stronger chance of surviving in the wild.
Staff at the centre have named the three seals after Joni Mitchell, Jimi Hendrix and Jethro Tull, as Lyndsey Crawford explained: "Every season we choose a theme for naming any rescued seal pups and when Joni came in as loud as she did, we just knew it had to be rock stars.
"She is incredibly vocal and now she is well on the road to recovery. She even seems to be enjoying the attention and posing for photographs."
Lyndsey said the low weight of all three pups had been a real concern for them and believes the pups may have been abandoned before they had learnt to fend for themselves. Jimi was rescued from rocks outside the Sea Life Centre after a concerned passer-by raised the alarm after spotting he had got trapped and was struggling to get free. "After a mad dash to rescue him, Jimi is still very poorly. He is incredibly underweight and has an abscess on his nose. "He is on a course of antibiotics to fight the infection and hopefully should be feeling better in no time," said Lyndsey.
Staff at the Sea Life Centre expect all the pups will recover their health and, after gaining some weight, will be released back into the wild. news.bbc.co.ukIt didn't say if Jethro stood on one flipper

None---ever---end of discussion Sorry Mr Monkey there is - Peter Vettese produced/ wrote a song/s for Mel C (sporty spice) and appeared in concert with her in Glasgow and maybe elsewhere? From the BBC web page for August 2010. Mel C is to perform with Peter Vettese at the Edinburgh Jazz and Blues Festival
A former Jethro Tull musician has defended his decision to have ex-Spice Girl Mel C make a guest appearance at his Edinburgh Jazz Festival show.
Peter Vettese said he "couldn't care less" that some jazz aficionados would think it was "sacrilege" he had invited a pop star to perform at the festival.
He said Mel C had the skill and ability to sing with him at his Wednesday show.
Vettese, who played with the rock band in the 80s, said Mel C was taking the event "very seriously".
The West Lothian musician, 53, told the BBC Scotland news website: "There will be jazz aficionados that think it is sacrilege for someone from Mel C's background to be performing at the jazz festival. "But I couldn't care less about what they may or may not say. "I am interested in being able to give the opportunity to play for those who might not accept someone from Mel C's background. "My life has been about a progression from a young jazz player to now embracing pop, rap and R&B. Jazz is spontaneous, melodic improvisation based upon known harmoniously-substituted progressions.
"What Melanie does is done seriously and how seriously one takes her is the responsibility of the one who is listening.
"Her voice is instantly recognisable, she is a great singer and a delightful individual."
Peter Vettese is playing on Wednesday at 1800 BST at Assembly at Princess Street Gardens.

What links Ronnie Corbett with Aqualung? Bouree? It would mean a link to Stand Up and not Aqualung so probably isn't the right answer but it was used as a soundtrack to RC advertising Mark 1 Ford Escorts

see what I mean about these questions bringing up alternate answers rather than the one I'm looking for - and a better one Clue it's a bit more obscure than that and is a person rather than music

Richard Digance had some recordings produced by Barrie Barlow at one time so I'll go with Barrie on second thoughts.

A person, not music? Drat - that rules out the fact that a band called 'Aqualung' did the music for an ad that Ronnie Corbett was in (didn't they? - I do doubt my memory, yet still think so)
Was there a 'character' mentioned in the Two Ronnies sketches called 'Cross Eyed Mary'?

And here's another Aqualung-related question for ya!
What's the Aqualung connection with ITV's 'Countrywise' programme? - specifically the one shown on Tuesday this week (ie. 12th April)
(And I'll apologise in advance for those that brave the itvplayer online for a replay. The ads are bloomin' annoying - and you can't fast forward through the ads! Grrr!)

I rarely pay attention to this and can't be "arsed" to follow more deeply into the thread, but surely I am missing something, as I cannot imagine there would be anyone save a recent impassioned convert perhaps who would not know that and the story surrounding it and indeed the marital status and current residence of the credited author but Jennie, well, formerly Anderson.

Think I might have got it....
Jennie Anderson's surname is now Franks, and according to the IMDB a Jennifer Franks appeared in several episodes of "Sorry" alongside Ronnie Corbett - I presume they are one and the same?

Angusprune - you've got it - the prize is the same as last time ..........satisfaction Jennie Franks was in the sit com Sorry with Ronnie Corbett. If info is correct she was an actress/photographer and worked as a secretary in Chrysalis when Ian met her. Now I'm not sure about that last bit because I thought it was Shona who was a secretary with a recording label? Unless he just had a thing for girls who did paperwork?

We know ian wasn't a socail butterfly...maybe the record company office was the ONLY place he saw girls....wouldn't it be great if we learned the good people in the Ellis/Wright empire were genrously stocking the pond for young Ian? Shona is such a perfect match for him, perhaps an in house yenta saw that?

My Brother has just emailed me to tell me he heard "My God" played on 'Countrywise' if he's right I'll forward his prize to him ;D Sorry! I've been away down in Kent on a gig, so am tardy in replying! Yup - the acoustic guitar intro to 'My God' featured from 27.27 to about 27.53 (third segment?) - and you can't get to it without the bloomin player having to play all the ads! I rarely use itvplayer cause of this - it's totally frustrating! The odd thing is, after playin those first seconds of it, it segways into a different acoustic guitar piece that almost pretends it's part of the same piece. I find that strange, cause there was still a deal of the track to go (on acoustic guitar) before the vocals would have started - so why use such a short snippet and then carry on with summat else? anyhoo - Tull snippets still to be found on mainstream TV - that's a start, at least!
