You know you're a Tull nut when you come back from two sweaty, muddy, messy days in the mountains and you catch up with your Tull forum friends before you hit the shower.

You know you're a Tull fan when you still mourn the death of John Glascock. A great loss to Tull and also the music world in general. A fine bass player who had he lived would have gone onto greater things.

You know your a Tull fan when you watch Peter Jackson re-telling Tolkien's Hobbit and you think of the HE wandering man as you watch Gandalf - pitchfork in hand (ok wand) walking far and wide o'er mountain and stream........

...when you regard Tull in the same way that you do an old and valued friend, whom you may not see for a while, but when you do it is just like you spoke yesterday. You are steadfast in your affection, and enjoy the flood of shared memories, but still find new facets that you had not previously seen.

When you start writing a blog about music (which is a half-excuse for blog about Tull) because your friends run away every time you mention them.

Totally understand Yesterday I went to listen to poetry by the UK and Irelands greatest poet and I hear Anderson lyrics! I'm sure Ian's flattered however I'll take it back a bit and say Yeats wins on the word front

That made me laugh for it's the same plant pot that sits on my kitchen window ledge. You know your a Tull fan when you buy your plant pots at Ikea I have only recently given in and got myself a smart phone - hence the crappy picture. However what "smart" person put the volume button at the side of the phone so that when you hold the phone the volume goes bonkers.!!

. . . . when you find this on the web and wish to share carolineld.blogspot.co.uk/2011/12/tull-of-fenchurch-street.htmlTull of Fenchurch StreetIf you search among the shops in Fenchurch Street, you won't spot Tull, fishing line and twine makers. However, take a closer look above the sign for Moss and there they are in a terracotta relief. It proudly points out that Tull was established in 1740; two fishermen casting a net from their rowing boat illustrate the firm's products.
The company certainly had a long history on this site. Elizabeth Tull, 'Net, Twine & Line-maker' appears at the address in Kent's Directory of 1794; the current building dates from 1880. The actual manufacture was carried out in Globe Lane (now Globe Road), Mile End. (An Old Bailey case of 1818 concerned the theft of 18lb of hemp from the 'manufactory'. The thief was transported for seven years.)
Tull seems to have enjoyed a reputation for quality. In 1827, one WP Richards wrote to the Literary Gazette with an account of his trial of an anti-rot treatment for rope. The experiment used 'new cord, of the very best quality, sold by Mr. Tull, in Fenchurch Street.' A few years later, Tull were among the exhibitors at the Great Exhibition of 1851, showing 'twine, fishing lines, cords, ropes, casting nets, & c., made of different materials'.
Today, the company seems to have long disappeared. However, its representatives carry on fishing the first floors of Fenchurch Street, almost unnoticed by passers-by.
And from google street maps etc

The most unusual place to have your pic taken with your favourite Tull album? This sounds like an excellent idea. Must be careful and do this on a clear day or night.

Still too cold to go up Pen y Fan. Leave that to the Mountain Men. Still in training OneRoastDuck Practicing your duck walk... Lay down and let the slow tide wash me back to the land where I came from. Where the mountain men are kings and the sound of the piper counts for everything. Did my tour, did my duty. I did all they asked of me.

You know your an (obsessive) Tullfan when you have a "thoughtworm" in your head and it won't go away.
I still hate the use of the word 'Dumbfounded' in Adrift and ...
It just doesn't fit!
Replace the word with 'Bewildered' and it works and sounds better.
He stands at the crossroads of new st. And old town. Gerald something from good home on sea. Thinking back to the child that he once was. All bread and butter and jam for his tea.
Men came and went in his moments of madness. Muttered apologies, late for a meeting. Too much intensity too much feigned sadness. Crestfallen, hangdog, glances too fleeting.
He was your golden boy, he’s adrift and bewildered. With nowhere to go, no appointments to keep. He’s our little man, he’s adrift and bewildered. Head on hard pillow, waiting for sleep.
Broken societies, selfish, uncaring. Addled brains clutching at chemicals soothing. Desperate measures, desperately tearing At last vestige of dignity, his for the losing.
