Tull played an absolute blinder at Newcastle last night. They had the crowd eating out of their hands. I think it was just after Life is a Long Song, a geordie voice shouted 'f***ing fabulous!', and it was! Martin was on fire, Ian was on top form - even SFTW sounded pretty good. Great to see the balloons again as well

I was at Aberdeen on Sunday and Perth yesterday. Going to Glasgow tonight. I will try and to do a 3-in-1 review sometime next week. Got some great pics which I will try and put on this site (no idea how to do it). Met the Support act in Perth shopping centre yesterday. Spoke for a few mins, just a pity I didn't get to meet any of Tull. My dad did manage to get 1 of Doane's sticks at the end of the Aberdeen show though.

Went to Bristol and had a great evening of top class music. Saori Jo opened and while I am not usually a great fan of warm up acts I really enjoyed a couple of her songs (particularly the last one which I can’t remember the name of.) Tull played superbly as they always do and (I am bored of this subject) Ian’s voice was OK. The rest of the band are as tight as a ducks arse and the sound quality was excellent . The highlight for me was a magical ‘Budapest’ and ‘Tea with the Princess’ was great to hear live. My only gripe was that O’Hara played the accordion too much and that Songs from the Wood and To Old ……… should be replaced with a few different tracks. That said,Great Show once again. Oh nearly forgot ……….. Martin Barre. Seen him play more times that I can remember and last night just reinforced what a bloody outstanding musician he his 10/10 OneImpressedDuck Thanks for that glad you had a good time got any change from the tenner I gave you?

was also told that my dancing was not welcomed as it "...distracted the band..." and they (Ian Anderson in particular apparently) askedfor me to be removed...

the music was great at the gig, don't get me wrong, but I think I should be allowed a little boogey and that folks who supoorted my exploits shouldn't have felt afraid to leave their seats either...

Hello arh and welcome to the Forum I found the same thing happened in Glasgow 2008 when a bloke walked up to the front of the stage and was told by security to sit down. I think it's a sign of the times elf n safety etc etc. I used to sit in the aisle in concerts for the specific purpose of dancing at the appropriate time I must admit tho that I don't get out much but have audiences in general both old and young got a bit lazy when it comes to showing enthusiasm at concerts? Glad you enjoyed the music anyway and please share some more stories about Tull.

Strange. At a gig in Portsmouth many moons ago he actively encouraged dancing in the aisles. Times and attitudes change I suppose and Ms Nonrabbit is correct, elf & safety has even reach the concert going public. Last year: Me to the Usherette: Can you keep the ticket in one piece and not tear it in half please? Usherette: Why? MD: So I can put it in my scrapbook with the others. Usherette: What others? MD: Scrapbook - putting things that you collect in a book! Usherette: Well I don't know. I'll ask. MD: Thanks. Suppose it's against regulations? Usherette: What? MD: Oh forget it. Usherette (after speaking to supervisor/team leader/security chappie/front of house manager/uncle tom cobley & all): Yes you can keep the whole ticket. MD: (to the sound of bashing my head against the nearest wall) Thanks

First time I saw Tull in 1989 at Preston me and some friends were right down at the front for Aqualung, and then again at Brum Town hall a few weeks later... Great memories, as I'd just got into Tull and was so excited about seeing them live!
