If u look towards the end (at about 3:29-ish) I thing Jack is kinda goofing on Ian. IA does his left leg thing then Jack does the same move right after. haha

Firstly, I would not want Ian to change a thing about his character exactly, but I do believe he treads on thin ice when he starts in on the ramming it down the guys throat on the one hand, on the other it sounds as if the guy continued to commit this quite minor transgression. (re, and this is also directed to the Pythons, and Roger Waters who have made similar, though possibly less eloquent commentary, without marijuana, I am CERTAIN the popularity and financial gain of all the above would have been seriously marginalized) Likely was less of a problem in his youth when he was a tobacco smoker, no exagerration to say there were cumulus clouds of marijuana smoke in the Chicago Stadium for Tull shows in the 70's. When I think a little about it though, this just might be about the period when he was quitting smoking himself, which can put one quite on edge. However even that is superceded by Ian being quite like say, Michael Jordan in performance, he gets in this zone where his behaviors might not be what they would be when he is at home. But had that been said to me, and I had put the joint out, lets just say the show would have been over for me, and he better have someone in addition to Tom Lynch to take me down. I think of this having met a couple ladies with a similar affliction to mine at the show the other night, having seen every Tull tour since 72, one of whom manages a hotel Ian has stayed at several times with a very tony address on La Salle St, usually with Shona. This lady was relating to me of how difficult and unfriendly Ian had been each time, once with Shona forcing Ian to apologize to her, allegedly. This surprised me primarily in that normally I believe Ian is quite civil to women, and often to anyone not crossing the moron line. Anyway wanting to get to the bottom of this perception, I asked her some particulars and she related how in the adjoining room was a bachelors party. I asked her if Ian had a show the next night and she said yes which was an enormous case of "Duh!" to me. I mean to know IA is to know he really means it when he talks about those 2 hours on stage being the only ones that matter. And this would be a hotel with a signifigant price tag. Now would you want to f**k with Ian Anderson, or for that matter Michael Jordan the night before they are going to perform their art? Totally not a good idea. As a matter of fact, though I saw this tour in at least one other city, I actually did get booted from the Chicago area show for smoking weed out on the lawn. We had gone to the edge of the damn lawn, miles from the stage, so as not to annoy people with children, etc, just as we used to in the 70's at Cubs or Sox Park when it was still feasible to burn in those places. So glad to see tiny bits of justice recently in the USA to the marijuana cause, right down to cancer treatments the most wrongfully condemned, and arguably the most useful plant on the planet. But I won't be happy til everyone who did prison time is reimbursed, and American is forced to watch what happens to young non violent men when they are sent to a penitentiary,re man rape, so they can see the reality of Nancy Reagans and America's "drug war."

Remy!!!!!! Remy Dominates. I have gone off a time or two about my regrets, re Ian's thrombosis, of the loss of some of his physical attack. By this point, 93/94 he was already getting into his late forties, and I LOVED the fact that, to this point, his stage aggression continued unabated, and I loved still more his being able to still do that post 60, (I know to signifigant extent he still does)something that thrombosis seemed to have stolen. In any case it was directly after that that he ceased to do my single favorite move, the flute twirl, seen here to goodly effect at 39.27 and likely several times elsewhere, and I have often made mention of a Rimsky Korsakov type dance he was doing on this and the next years tour, have not had time to watch this front to back but he does a pretty good facsimile at the 1.13 mark. Often have I read from this or that fan of the overwhelming superiority of the seventies. Now, keep in mind I saw every of their tours, some more than once, from 72 on, so...I do know what they are talking about. But do show me where, the 70 IOW show is in any way superior to this performance, including the bloody voice. I might give you a slight preferance there, and admittedly there were several nights, particularly in the early and mid nineties when the voice was of deep concern, but such bits as I have watched here, at alternate ten minute marks, it seems ok, even very good in delivery. Now on to the admonishment part of the pot smoker, for which I am of several minds. Part of my attraction to IA has always been his stage physicality and intensity which I liken to both very great athletes and actors. I realize he gets himself into a state not unlike that of an athlete, so I kind of sympathize with the extent he goes to. But a ballplayer would be fined something on the order of 25000 dollars for a similar outburst. Now, on the other hand, I suspect the guy was jack assing Ian, like taking his time, or continuing to burn in his face, in which case I get and sympathize with the snappage, and a quality one it was. On the other hand, had I been on the receiving end, and was merely putting the thing out, lets just say I would have been escorted from the arena and I might have been looking for him outside.

Despite happily pissing my life away watching Tull via Forum/You Tube..I do quite appreciate ray annotations as guidance when i don't have as many hours as I'd like for a Tull wallow on a day I scored 7th row for a gig ( APPLAUSE). Ah 93...good, solid, second era Tull...I remember feeling so lucky that Tull was carrying on in style and triumph...still worth every penny paid and mile driven or hitch-hiked...but now ANOTHER 20 years Later That Same Lifetime...to be anticipating a second dip in a tour that 'triumphant' does not begin to describe...well excuuuuse me if I pinch myself to see if I'm dreaming because current status of my favorite musician in the world is 'Too Good To Be True.

I love the part when Ian asks if any other artists played live at a press conference... everyone says no. Ian... "Well f**k them!"
