Anyone, like me, who was a fan of McGoohan or his cult TV programme "The Prisoner" will be saddened to hear of his death. RIP Patrick McGoohan.

Off the top of my head I can only recall him in Braveheart and The Prisoner but he was likely flat out brilliant period. In Braveheart he nailed King Edward 1 to such a degree that as good as everyone else was in that movie, I felt he was the very best. The scene with that twit friend of his son offering advice and getting tossed out the window is one of my all time favorites.

A great actor - I remember him from the Prisoner although I didn't really have a clue what the programme was about but remember him as a really mesmerising actor - likewise Braveheart and his steely gaze. Not sure if he would have been a good James Bond maybe the role would have been too light weight for him ??
rest in peace

I'd go so far as to say The Prisoner probably had as much an effect and influence on me during my formative years as both Tull and Python. Be seeing you. Cheers, Jioffe.

I didn't get to see the The Prisoner until much later, but my favorite was McGoohan as Dr. Christopher Syn, in Dr. Syn, Alias The Scarecrow, the charactor from the Russell Thorndike books. It was produced by Disney but it is still the best of the three movies I know of on the subject. I also happen to think McGoohan would have made an excellent James Bond around that time.
