Hello. Don't know why I haven't checked out a JT forum years prior to today! This one looks good. I've been a member of a JT Facebook group but those groups aren't really very good. So difficult to follow sensible discussion. I've liked JT since I was 10 in 1972 though I only knew one song, Life's A Long Song from the compilation,20 Star Tracks .(I still have it). I've been a confirmed fan since '77 when I saw them on BBC Sight and Sound in Concert. After 5 minutes I had the tape player in front of TV, pressed play and record and played that tape to death until Bursting Out which was of course better. I have all the JT and IA albums (including Boxed Sets and Nightcap)barring Christmas Album, SLOB and RD. First saw them on Broadsword Tour and numerous times since. I'm a member of a Genesis forum and have kept the name. The name suits some Genesis lyrics but also goes well with the cover of my favourite album, HH and Ian is former Salmon farmer so I think it still goes quite well with Jethro Tull. Other bands/artists I'm somewhat fanatical about are Kate Bush, David Bowie, Motorhead , Hawkwind, Pink Floyd, and Black Sabbath. Not a member of other forums not mentioned. IA is one the worlds greatest lyricists, with huge and diverse subject matter . What with that,JTs diverse music and of course personnel make the whole JT phenomenon fascinating enough for discussion and after 45 years of fandom I still feel I have a lot learn about this band, so here I am. I'm quite busy in life ,my contributions may be a little hit and miss nonetheless hoping to start reading through this site and hoping to encounter a sarcastic free zone.

SLOB is one of those albums, for me, where I have not thought about it in a few months, then on a beautiful warm spring day when the flowers take bloom, there's the smell of newly mown hay in the air and the birds are chorusing I will pop in the CD and enjoy an afternoon of some very pretty and lighthearted music. Rupi's Dance is something I often forget about until someone mentions it on here and then...voila....I'm playing it. This ain't rock 'n' roll. This is genocide!
