Perhaps 9 or 10 months ago on the Tull website Ian proclaimed news coming soon about the 40th anniversary of the album A. Has anybody heard anything subsequent to that?

Found on another forum (Laufi's). Seems legit to me: 'Associated tracks' on disc 1: Crossfire (Extended Version), Working John, Working Joe ( Take 4), Cheerio (Early Version), Coruisk ( unreleased instrumental), Slipstream introduction. Discs 2 & 3 are Live at L.A. Disc 4 is DVD audio of the Wilson mixes including 5.1 and the original mix Disc 5 is Slipstream DVD with audio remixed by Wilson EDIT: Found another thread, with a lot more information: forums.stevehoffman.tv/threads/jethro-tull-a-a-la-mode-edition-3-cd-2-dvd-steven-wilson-remix.1052301/page-12

www.loudersound.com/reviews/jethro-tull-embraced-the-zeitgeist-on-a-how-does-it-stack-up-40-years-onJethro Tull embraced the zeitgeist on A. How does it stack up 40 years on?Out today: Jethro Tull's A - one original album lovingly expanded to three CDs and three DVDs By John Aizlewood a day ago By the time of 1980’s A, Jethro Tull’s remarkable run of globe-straddling success had peaked. It was their first album not to make the US Top 20 since their 1968 debut, and in a Britain dazzled by Tubeway Army and The Pretenders, Tull were suddenly the oldest of hats. A wasn’t even supposed to be a Jethro Tull album. Instead, Ian Anderson brought in keyboards/electronic violin virtuoso Eddie Jobson (Curved Air, Roxy Music, Frank Zappa), Jobson’s pal Mark Craney, formerly Tommy Bolin’s drummer, and Tull’s Martin Barre and Dave Pegg for a solo album. To Anderson’s lasting regret, his label Chrysalis insisted it being credited to the mothership. This whopping box features five extra tracks; a 1980 Los Angeles show remixed by Steve Wilson which features a heroic assault on Heavy Horses and Songs From The Wood at its most spring-heeled. Wilson has also remixed a second version of the album to sonically enhanced effect, and there’s the endearingly daft, David Mallet-directed, part live, part concept video Slipstream, on which Anderson takes his Aqualung character for another spin around the block. Four decades on, Anderson’s attempts to drag Tull into the 80s seem quaint, but Jobson’s keyboards wash makes it unique in the catalogue. As a result, this bridge between idiosyncratic Tull and more conventionally rocking Tull divides opinion like no other album, but the years have been kind.

Im not always a fan of the Steven Wilson Tull remixes. His stereo image can appear too wide leaving "holes" in the mix, and little details are sometimes too upfront giving an odd unbalanced feel. But I have to say this new "A" remix is superb, probably the best so far its like a new album. The live concert too is a revelation, I know we have it already from b*****gs, but this mix bursts powerfully from the speakers, its brilliant!

$2.99 for the pin and $3.50 for shipping? That's okay. I still want one. I got one in Hamburg on February 9, 1980 and wrecked it from using the pin as a hash smoking device ( small piece of hash on pin, light, under bar glass while Europeans rolled yucky spliffs full of tobacco). This one will not be used to smoke hash.
