My father was a huuuuge Jethro Tull fan. Not sure when he started but he was a keen music fan in the late 60s/early 70s so I'm assuming since This Was or Stand Up at least. He's passed away since 2011 and we were very estranged for most of my life so I never had the chance to ask him much about his Tull obsession. However, my mom has told me that shortly after learning she was pregnant with me, both she and he saw Tull live, most likely for the Songs From the Wood tour. If my dad had his way my name would've been Ian Anderson Bishop! But instead I'm just commonly christened Brad. As I grew up and came of age and discovered my parents' era of classic rock (and thank the gods I did!), Jethro Tull was always on the top of my lists of bands that I enjoyed and revered. Now into my 40s and with kids of my own I don't listen to Led Zeppelin or Pink Floyd or The Doors nearly as much as Tull. I was lucky enough to see Tull perform live twice with Barre and twice since. Every November is Tull month while I listen to only Tull all month especially while doing yard-work. There's nothing I love more than to be outside in the crisp autumn air, raking leaves while Tull plays. I was really bummed that the 'A' 40th anniversary box set was delayed and I don't have any new discovered gems to add to my playlist.
It's a damn shame that I didn't have a better relationship with my father because the one thing I wonder is how he and I would've bonded, we both being huge JT fans.

I’m sorry for your loss Brad. Your father sounds like an amazing man! And he certainly had great taste in music. That’s a great story about your name and definitely glad you found the forums. It’s a great place to talk about, read about, watch and listen to Jethro Tull! Be well Brad, and again welcome!! —Ron—
