Oh, dear Prime Minister it's all such a mess. Go right ahead and pull the rotten tooth. Oh, Mr. President you've been put to the test. Come clean, for once, and hit us with the truth.
This NHS critical care nurse was left in tears after finding no fruit or vegetable in her supermarket after a 48-hour shift.
“I just don’t know how I’m supposed to stay healthy,” said Dawn Bilbrough.
“People who are just stripping the shelves of basic foods. You just need to stop it - because it’s people like me that are going to be looking after you when you’re at your lowest.”
“Just stop it. Please.”

VOLUNTEER NETWORK TO FIGHT OUTBREAK
The U.K. government on Tuesday appealed for 250,000 “people in good health” to help its health service cope with the coronavirus outbreak.
Health Secretary Matt Hancock also said that final year medical students and student nurses would be moved to the National Health Service’s (NHS) “front line.”
“We are seeking a quarter of a million volunteers, people in good health, to help the NHS, for shopping, for delivery of medicines and to support those who are shielded to protect their own health,” Hancock told reporters.
It is hoped that the network of volunteers — which will be known as NHS Volunteer Responders — will help the up-to 1.5 million people especially vulnerable to coronavirus who have been told to “shield” themselves for 12 weeks.
The government’s latest press briefing on the fast-spreading COVID-19 was held virtually rather than physically for the first time, following more stringent restrictions on the British public. Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced the new measures on Monday, in a bid to contain the epidemic.
Hancock also announced that the government was opening a temporary hospital, called NHS Nightingale, which would have two wards of 2,000 people each. It will be located near the Excel exhibition center in London.
“With the help of the military and with NHS clinicians, we will make sure that we have the capacity that we need so that everyone can get the support they need,” he added.
Britain’s health department on Tuesday reported a further 87 deaths of patients who tested positive for COVID-19. It brings the country’s total death toll to 422, while the number of confirmed cases has risen to 8,077.
As of Tuesday morning, all nonessential public buildings and places in the U.K. — ranging from libraries to churches, outdoor gyms and playgrounds — were ordered to close. All social events including weddings and baptisms have also been stopped, apart from funerals. Gatherings of more than two people, excluding people that live with each other, were also banned.
The public has been told to stay at home and can now only leave home for essential trips to buy food or medicines, to provide essential care, travel to work if absolutely necessary or to exercise once a day.
The stricter measures came into force after good weather at the weekend prompted thousands of people to head to open spaces like national parks and beaches across the U.K., in many cases creating crowds that contravened government guidelines to maintain social distancing.

LIFE IMITATES ART: RICK GRIMES (The Walking Dead):
In an example of irony that we hope doesn't turn into foreshadowing, The Walking Dead fans were faced with a creepy example of "life imitating art" when a patient was diagnosed with coronavirus (COVID-19) at a hospital that shares the same name with the one Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) woke up in to start the comic book and television sagas. While Harrison Memorial Hospital (HMH) was the name of the medical facility on both page and screen, the hospital in question is based in Kentucky so the edge goes to comic book universe this time (the television series started out in Atlanta). Here's a look at what the hospital had to say regarding the diagnosed patient, via an official statement: "HMH has had COVID-19 screening in place since early January 2020 as mandated by the Centers for Disease Control. At any point of entry within HMH, all patients are screened for the potential risk. The patient presented with flu-like symptoms to our facility. At that time patient did not meet KDPH health screening and was treated for the presented symptoms. When symptoms did not subside, the patient returned. Further tests were completed, KDPH was notified, and KDPH determined the patient did not qualify for testing. Despite the patient not meeting COVID-19 screening criteria, HMH clinicians made the determination to admit the patient to the hospital due to the patient's condition and was admitted into a negative pressure isolation room. From there, the patient was transferred to a tertiary care facility."

The PRINCE OF WALES HAS TESTED POSITIVE FOR CORONAVIRUS, Clarence House has confirmed.
Prince Charles, 71, is displaying mild symptoms "but otherwise remains in good health", a spokesman said.
The Duchess of Cornwall has also been tested but does not have the virus.
Clarence House said Charles and Camilla were now self-isolating in Balmoral in Scotland, adding it was "not possible to ascertain from whom the prince caught the virus".

Day 3 of lockdown and Cornwall seems to be very very quiet. What was it like before? Are there a lot of tourists, or just the townsfolk strolling about, doing what they normally do? It looks like it is possible that "four and twenty laborers were laboring" on that road, shown above, and they were sent home because of the virus.

I confess...I have abused my hospital ID to skip the lines at the grocery store and cafe...both on 'grab and go' status...but only when I have been 'on -call' the rest of the time I have played nice.

I was 'on-call' 43 out of 48 hours last weekend. I ask my kid to tell me if(when) I get haggard...but she is delighted when I have to leave the house and her house arrest is lightened by her loud music and all hour face times with friends.

It's not a road but a tidal slipway at low tide better shown in the 2nd photo where the sea is at high tide. The west country, Cornwall, Devon, Dorset, Somerset etc., is normally getting an influx of holiday makers as it's Easter very soon and the schools will be on holiday but this year, with most people self isolating, it seems fairly quiet.

Oddly, The president of Mexico, Snr. Obrador, who seems to have a bigger brain and capacity for compassion is also minimizing the dangers and need for response. They seem to be betting on the virus showing somewhat lesser strength in warm climates...but not total defeat.

A Mexican state governor has prompted incredulity and outrage by claiming that poor people are immune to Covid-19, as the government attempts to promote physical distancing and cancels non-essential services.
Miguel Barbosa, the governor of Puebla, was apparently commenting on reports that a significant proportion of Mexico’s coronavirus cases is made up of wealthy people who had travelled abroad.
Officials say three-quarters of Mexico’s 475 confirmed cases are related to international travel, including several people who reportedly caught the virus on skiing trips to Italy or the US.
“Most of them are wealthy people,” Barbosa said. “If you are rich you are at risk. If you are poor you are not. The poor, we’re immune.”
His comments sparked controversy in a country where nearly half of the population are poor and the majority work in the informal economy.

Ugh, things like this will never flatten the curve. Until a vaccine is developed the whole world needs to be careful! A pandemic is a global outbreak. COVID 19 infects people and can spread quickly. There is little to no pre-existing immunity against this virus, which is why it is spreading worldwide so quickly. SMH right now.

Well it looks like Mrs G and myself will be confined to barracks for 4 months if that's the plan proposed by Boris and Co. That means Ian will be as well so he will have time to finish the new album. There's a bright side!

During times of deep anxiety it helps to create something with humor like this ... I assume there will be no concert cruises anywhere this year. The world has become too dangerous.
