I wonder. I’m sure he’s considering it. Maybe it’ll be a good thing and the band can buckle down in the studio and get a new album or two done.

No doubt it will be up to the UK government to decide whether to cancel UK events, rather like the lockdown in Italy at the present time. As for other overseas events I'm sure Ian will take advice from the relevant authorities.

Things are not looking good for the rest of this year, Ian and Martin both have extensive plans which are probably going to be rescheduled at some point. I try to be optimistic for most things... feels like Dark Ages now.

My gut reaction to the news coming out of 10 Downing St., the White House, the EU etc., is that until all the different countries get their act together and decide upon a common approach to coronavirus, the decision regarding concerts, sporting events and the like will vary worldwide. If, as is reported today, China has had their lowest recorded cases since the outbreak then they may be over the worst and it remains to be seen if in a month or two the UK, USA, Italy et al have similar lower reported cases. So depending on which part of the world Forum members live, you may see a Tull or even a Martin Barre concert and if you do - enjoy - and please send us a reviews(s). And in the words of rredmond, STAY SAFE

Ian will never be the first to bail out...but decisions being made well above his head ( I know, in a sane world there would be no such thing as an authority higher than Ian...even if he did want to take away our weed and jeans in about 1975....the upsides would have been worth it.)

Now’s the time for Ian to schedule recording time. So sad that tours are being cancelled but selfishly I think it’s the perfect time to finish up the half done album and possibly even a second one as Ian has briefly mentioned.

Wouldn't that be a silver lining ? YES INDEED !!! Make the most of this hopefully temporary situation. I want the new album more than anyone could imagine. Ian's got a lot on his mind at the moment because of uncertainty. Each passing day creates more stress which many of us are beginning to feel.
I don't have a clue what will happen until things are under control... Even Record Store Day has been pushed back !!!

From the official website of JT and IA: CORONAVIRUS AND JETHRO TULL To all our fans and ticketholders for upcoming tours in the light of this growing epidemic affecting most of the world in the last weeks, please check out the links on this page to for specific information country by country. Please see the link on the home page to Postponements and Cancellations for specific information country by country. Our hope is that, if and when venues and local promoters are forced to close down concerts due to their government’s laws relating to the limiting of public gatherings, “social spacing” or health emergency, we can reschedule any such concerts to dates some months later extending, as necessary, into 2021. This is a fluid situation with changes almost daily to the policies and restrictions decided upon by the governments of the varied countries we are due to perform in during the coming months. We will advise at www.jethrotull.com and other social media on the same day as we receive 100% confirmation of the actual changes which the promoters have to make. As you can appreciate, finding alternative available and workable dates is not easy. Especially since so many other artists are being forced into the same urgent course of action. You may read in your local news media of forced closures and wonder why this is not reflected on the Tull website. That will be because we are unable at that time to give precise details of alternative dates. As soon as we know, you will know. Tickets already purchased will be, we are told, valid for the postponed/rescheduled dates. Refunds, as such, are beyond our control, depending as they do on the policy of venues, promoters and ticket agencies. Apologies for this from the band and me but we have no choice in the matter. Fingers crossed that some of our later 2020 concerts and tours can still go on as planned. Your health and well-being is most important and so we have to simply accept any forced changes to our schedule. These are unprecedented times and our thoughts go out to our fans and supporters everywhere. We all hope that we and our loved ones will remain safe and that we meet again before too long in happier and safer times. Thanks for your understanding. Stay well and follow all the positive government advice as far as possible. Take care. Ian Anderson. Updated Wednesday 18th March 2020
