www.campbellrivermirror.com/ Martin Barre is celebrating the history of Jethro Tull, with a ‘Tour of Tours’ which will be stopping into Campbell River’s Tidemark Theatre on April 30 at 7:30 p.m. Photo contributedMartin Barre performs classic Jethro Tull in Campbell RiverLegendary band’s guitarist brings tour to the Tidemark Theatre Mar. 2, 2020 1:30 p.m.ENTERTAINMENTLOCAL ENTERTAINMENT In 1969, a band of four English musicians arrived in New York and literally took America by storm. Over the next 50 years, this legendary band accumulated over 65 million record sales and a following of loyal fans that are the envy of rock bands worldwide. This band was Jethro Tull. At the centre of Tull’s unique sound is guitarist Martin Barre. Renowned for his formidable mastery of historic riffs, power chords and soaring melodic solos. Barre is celebrating the history of Jethro Tull, with a ‘Tour of Tours’ which will be stopping into Campbell River’s Tidemark Theatre on April 30 at 7:30 p.m. He will be bringing a spectacular show with his touring band, featuring Dan Crisp on lead vocals, Alan Thomson on keyboard, Darby Todd on drums, with Becca Langsford and Alex Hart on vocals. Plus, two very special guests – Dee Palmer and Clive Bunker; both of whom performed with Tull for many years and were an important part of their success. Barre’s guitar playing has earned him a high level of respect and recognition; he was voted 25th best solo ever in the USA and 20th best solo ever in the UK for his playing on Aqualung. His playing on the album Crest of a Knave earned him a Grammy award in 1989. “(Jethro Tull’s) music is so brilliantly written and well put together, what with its hard-to-play parts and odd time signatures, not to mention the great guitar sounds of the totally underrated Martin Barre,” Rush’s Geddy Lee said. As well as his extraordinary haul of 60 million records sold as a member of Tull, Barre has also worked with some of the world’s most influential musicians including Paul McCartney, Gary Moore and Phil Collins, and Barre has shared the stage with such legends as Jimi Hendrix, Fleetwood Mac, Pink Floyd and Led Zeppelin. “As a young musician starting out, looking for inspiration, I was fortunate to have Martin’s guitar playing to inspire me, illuminating all the different ways to play guitar and create musical magic. I was mystified by his perfect blend of electric blues and rock – exciting, earthy, stellar and unique… He was brilliant. Thank you, Martin Barre!” Joe Satriani said. The show will also feature a special multimedia presentation that, together with the music, highlights the 50 years of Jethro Tull’s musical career. Tickets are $71.25 and are available onlilne at tidemarktheatre.com or at the theatre box office. link

Important news from Buenos Aires Argentina ... Regarding the Martin Barre show tonight, Ceroveinticinco and Momer 360 communicate the following:
1) According to the regulations of the city government of bs as, decree 2020-140-GCABA-AJG dated March 12, 2020, in its first article it restricts the maximum capacity for an artistic event to 200 people.
2) For this reason, all those who want to request the refund of the ticket, may do so by the same way in which it was purchased.
3) Tonight's show will take place, respecting the maximum capacity limit allowed. This means that only the first 200 people who come in with their ticket will be able to enter the Coliseum Theater room, regardless of their location.
4) The total number of tickets sold so far is 330 in total, of which only the first 200 will be allowed access.
5) Those people who cannot enter due to a capacity issue allowed by the city government, will be reimbursed the amount of the ticket.
We already appreciate your understanding in these particular moments

Last week Sunday March 15th in Concepcion Chile... Culture and Shows Martin Barre and the strong legacy of Jethro Tull LINK On Sunday evening, the last show performed at the UdeC Theater will be recorded in the auditory memory of fans of the legacy of Jethro Tull and progressive rock in all its variations.
Its historic guitarist, Martin Barre , stepped on the city for the first time to celebrate the half century of history of the British band. He started with " A song for Jeffrey ", performed with a sound that touched perfection and with a compact and quite solid band, which would be the constant of the entire concert that lasted more than 2 hours.
Highlight was guitarist and vocalist Dan Crisp , who had the difficult mission of putting on Ian Anderson's shoes , and he did it in an incredible way: at times, his vocal timbre closely resembled the historic vocalist of Jethro Tull .
The classic and legendary " Locomotive Breath " marked the end of an impeccable show, in which the public had a good time and was enthusiastic about this international music legend.
Experienced support band The musician was with Dan Crisp, Alan Thomson, Darby Todd, and special guests Dee Palmer and Adam Wakeman .

Martin Barre Band - Locomotive Breath - Vivo Rio - 08/03/2020 Video by Nelso Santos I remember well, when I was 16 years old and the Aqualung album came out, I had only heard the singles Living in the Past, Sweet Dream and Witches Promise at that time, to hear such amazing tracks like My God, Mother Goose, Wind Up, etc...…..was awesome. The exciting thing about Locomotive Breath was the amazing flute in it, it was something new, and nobody had done that before to my ears...….. To play that song without Ian's unique vocals, and without the flute is not for me, sorry, just a cover band without a flute...…..

Many feel the same towards Ian Anderson after he made the changes that were made since 2012. Based on personal taste I enjoy both types of TULL because of the energy and unique styles.
When I first heard Martin play in 2015 at a show near here, it confirmed how important it was. Ever since I've been happy with both but even more now with so much uncertainty about the future.
WE NEED A MIRACLE to see either band again !!!
