Perhaps there is an explanation....a smaller venue within the venue, perhaps...or a reconfiguration with less seats?
It looks to me like The 2nd Anniversary Tour of The 50th Anniversary Tour is booked to play
the 16,000 seat amphitheater in Irvine, California ( for all practical purposes: Los Angeles).
Granted, Tull has always been very popular in Southern California, breaking LA Forum and LA Coliseum records
in the mid seventies. And as late as the 20th Anniversary tour (1988) filled much, but not all, of the venue in Irvine.
And a few years ago, when there was only one Tull date for all of Southern California
(20 million people including nearby San Diego), They did pretty well filling...well, almost filling,
the 6000 seat Hollywood Bowl... with lots of advertising and promotions on the many LA stations that still
respect Tull. But the current tour has two other dates VERY near Irvine the same week ( Indio and San Diego).
So what gives? Are they going to promote the hell out of this gig, give away a few thousand tickets
via radio stations an record stores. No want wants Tull to succeed more then me ( heirs excluded)
but a 16,000 seat venue in 2019 ? Will someone please explain ?
