www.cleveland.com/music/index.ssf/2018/10/rock_roll_hall_of_fame_to_reve.htmlCLEVELAND, Ohio - The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame is about to announce the nominees for the Class of 2019. The list, plus a revised plan for fan voting, will be unveiled on Tuesday, Oct. 9. It's a safe bet that a few holdovers from the Class of 2018 nominees - Rage Against the Machine, the J. Geils Band and Judas Priest will be among the names. And it's possible (but not likely) that newcomers like Cleveland's own Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, plus Beck and the Fugees will be there. Among other first-time eligible, it's more likely that the safer might be Snoop Dogg, the Dave Matthews Band, Blink-182 or the Roots will be on the ballot. Also, there's sure to be a push - warranted by some, not so much by others - for artists like Janet Jackson and Rufus, featuring Chaka Khan, Jethro Tull, Nine Inch Nails, the Doobie Brothers, Todd Rundgren and Akron's Devo and more. If 33 years of previous inductions have proven anything, it's that the nominees and the actual artists tapped for induction will be controversial. The Class of 2019 will be inducted in ceremonies in Brooklyn, New York, in April 2019.

Rage Against the Machine - Don't care for them or Tom Morello. Too preachy.
J. Geils Band - One of the best American bar bands every assembled. Crack musicians playing fun kick ass roll 'n' roll.
Judas Priest - The all-time ranked #2 heavy metal band (either them or Maiden). It should not have taken this long. But, Janne Wenner and his snobs look down upon great heavy metal (and progressive) music.
Bone Thugs-N-Harmony - Never heard of them. Will check them out.
Beck - Come on! He's still practically a kid. Let him wait his turn.
Fugees - Not rock 'n' roll.
Snoop Dogg - Not rock 'n' roll. Give me a break.
Dave Matthews Band - Yes.
Blink-182 - Not hall of fame worthy.
The Roots - Great band from Philly. But, too early for induction. Let them wait twenty more years.
Janet Jackson - She's great. But, again...not rock n roll.
Rufus - Who?
Jethro Tull - I'm not holding my breath (and if they ever get in, I hope he doesn't show up and pulls a Knopfler.
NIN - I guess.
The Doobie Brothers - They're not in? WTF. See, Janne Wenner is a toolbag.
Todd Rundgren - He's not in? That's ridiculous.
Devo - Yes!
