Is this just a money-grab?
Other than these unreleased songs:
10. "Living In These Hard Times (version 2, previously unreleased)" 11. "Everything In Our Lives (previously unreleased)" 12. "Jack A Lynn (early version, previously unreleased)" 13. "Quatrain (studio version, previously unreleased)" 14. "Horse-Hoeing Husbandry (previously unreleased)" 15. "Beltane" 16. "Botanic Man (previously unreleased)" 17. "Living In These Hard Times (version 1)" 18. "Botanic Man Theme (previously unreleased)"
(some of which have already been heard before) there is really nothing else that is new here. The two concert discs are, in essence, Bursting Out. Other than being a "Tull completest" (though, I see nothing wrong with that), is there some reason why this would be considered a sought-after release (other than whatever photos or artwork are included)? I've purchased the other box sets (Minstrel being my favorite and, in my opinion, the one who had the most to offer.
You guys are much more educated than I regarding all the tiny nuances of their career. So, I am open to hear if I am missing something. I do appreciate and understand the celebratory quality of a 40th anniversary release and enjoy all the aspects of repackaging some of my favorite albums of old. But, over the years I've seen Ian (or the record company) repackage the same songs so many times, I am wondering where the art stops and where the gouging of the very listeners who have supported them since the 70's, begins. My brother and I began buying almost everything released since M.U. was released. It was with that LP that we first heard most of those songs (along with FM radio).

I would grant that most of the other re-release, book, multi CD extravaganzas have been more fruitful and exciting than HH. Nothing can touch APP and HH had nothing for me in the league of Old Aces, Tomorrow Was Today, Commercial Traveler or the live Cold Wind to Valhalla and Aqualung on Minstrel revisited. Fingers crossed for big news on Stormwatch's turn.
