The Louisville Leopard Percussionists began in 1993. They are a performing ensemble of approximately 55 student musicians, ages 7-12, living in and around Louisville, Kentucky. Each student learns and acquires proficiency on several instruments, such as marimbas, xylophone, vibraphone, drum set, timbales, congas, bongos and piano.added: www.imwan.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=17&t=81584&sid=a692a16d6c70f4d5296fe4a962f56007&start=814 Wow! Elton John - Tiny Dancer
Published on 12 Aug 2012 by Nescio K
Blue jean baby, L.A. lady, seamstress for the band Pretty eyed, pirate smile, you'll marry a music man Ballerina, you must have seen her dancing in the sand And now she's in me, always with me, tiny dancer in my hand
Jesus freaks out in the street Handing tickets out for God Turning back she just laughs The boulevard is not that bad
Piano man he makes his stand In the auditorium Looking on she sings the songs The words she knows, the tune she hums
But oh how it feels so real Lying here with no one near Only you and you can hear me When I say softly, slowly
Hold me closer tiny dancer Count the headlights on the highway Lay me down in sheets of linen you had a busy day today
Hold me closer tiny dancer Count the headlights on the highway Lay me down in sheets of linen you had a busy day today

A solid tune on a topic most relevant in the Americas these days. Listened to it 10 times yesterday, sent it out on a Twitter post and got some unexpected, positive angles of approval by people in the education field. Ya never can tell. Not in any way a peak of artistic exploration or instrumental flair, never in the prog rock hallway but always such composure and rooted in something authentic. Heaven Help The Devil (may he have a few unpleasant memories) www.youtube.com/watch?v=cHvO6BqKilY

"liked" above choice made me think of this beauty.
The way I feel is like a robin Whose babes have flown to come no more Like a tall oak tree alone and cryin' When the birds have flown and the nest is bare
Now a woman Lord, is like a young bird And the tall oak tree is a young man's heart Among its boughs you find her nesting When the nights are cool, she's warm and dry
Your coat of green, it will protect her Her wings will grow, your love will too But all too soon, your mighty branches Will cease to hold her and she'll fly from you
Now the way I feel is like a robin Whose babes have flown to come no more Like a tall oak tree alone and cryin'

Why do they play Tiny Dancer so much on the radio ? Quite probably in Canada or the States but, apart from BBC Radio 2 or BBC local stations, not many other stations here in the UK would play it I reckon. Even Planet Rock doesn't feature EJ's early stuff.

Not sure if I mentioned before how much I dig Martin Lancelot Barre and I wish he and Ian were still making music together, but... dang that was good. The guitar was awesome. --Ron--

This is from 'True Stories'. Talking Heads '77 and 'Remain in Light' are classic Heads. Great Video.

This man was an olympic runner before becoming a full-time musician. The song is not originally his, btw. You may know the version by Cesaria Evora. I'm not much into African music, but I do like this guy.
