Hi folks My grandma came from Bulgaria. I've never been but would really want to. I'm just joined on here. I am in awe of the way Ian just does it and keeps going through it, being over 60 and sticking two fingers up to conventional dress your age bigots. Fab. Can I come too? Bill Nelson told me to stay young. I am trying, Ian is obeying! Love you all. P.s. Can someone please take me to a concert? Hi ifelloffmybike and a warm welcome to the JT Forum.

2017 back to the Tull name ?? Wouldn't surprise me, it has market impact of some type, but it also carries with it that automatic huge demand for the back catalogue, so it would be a huge tradeoff doing that. It might be auspicious and it might be samsara. Releasing an entirely new content "Jethro Tull" album would make it seem legit. The "Special Achievers Present: The Best Of The New Jethro Tull Album 'Lookee Here!'".

Here's a quote from a recent interview
"Immediately after the concert will go to the studio to do the mastering of the new album to be released in February"
Has this been addressed before? Do you think he's referring to the album of past songs with orchestra or to the Group of songs he wrote in January? Anyone… Anyone?

Lots of rumblings about the string quartet album...maybe that? I hope I'm wrong and it's a bolt out of the blue like TAAB2.

The British prog-rockers, who finish the visit at the Byron Bay Bluesfest, has performed more than 3000 concerts in nearly 40 years together. Jethro Tull released the classic concept albums, Aqualung and Thick as a Brick, in the early 70s. Anderson is the only founding member of the band, which played their first concert at London’s famous Marquee Club in 1968, still on the road. The 69-year-old frontman says the years have not diminished his commitment to making music “although the tights and codpiece have long since been consigned to a forgotten bottom drawer”. Tickets to Jethro Tull’s Perth concert go on sale October 20, with a pre-sale starting October 17.

www.noise11.com/news/ian-anderson-to-perform-jethro-tull-australian-tour-dates-20161013Ian Anderson To Perform Jethro Tull Australian Tour Datesby PAUL CASHMERE on OCTOBER 13, 2016 in NEWS Live Nation has announced Australian dates for Ian Anderson in April but with a more carefully worded announcement than Bluesfest. While Bluesfest lists Jethro Tull as performing for the 2017 event, Live Nation has announced the show as ‘Jethro Tull by Ian Anderson’. The Live Nation announcement reads, “returning to Byron Bay for next year’s Bluesfest, IAN ANDERSON will perform the music of JETHRO TULL at headline shows in Perth, Melbourne and Sydney”. Jethro Tull as a band is no more and Ian Anderson was very clear. “My use of the name is something I have been careful about as I get older,” Ian told Noise11.com in 2014. “I had been recording under the name Jethro Tull since 1968. It is something that I am very proud of. It is a huge body of repertoire that I am very proud of and I have absolutely no intention of giving up playing. It is stuff I wrote. I am indelibly entwined with the past of Jethro Tull but I just feel that in my twilight years, forgive the vanity but, I would just like to stick my bald head above and say “my name is Ian Anderson. That is my preference in my final years to keep my own name in the frame. You can call me Mr Tull. I don’t get upset by it. People call me Jethro or Mr Tull, they call me a lot worse things than that”. Ian Anderson Australia dates April 11, Perth, Concert Hall April 13, Melbourne, Hamer Hall April 15, Sydney, State Theatre

Tull toured the 25 year 'best of' set for 3 years...does this mean a 6 year tour of 50th year 'best of'? With all the new material coming soon it really depends on the venue. Ian puts a price on 2 sets and an encore. Some gigs are 1 long set and encore. I want 3 sets please... Remember after a 4 hour TULL Viagra experience... Just smile and have another English Ale.
