Okay... better late than never... Another song from Ian... The Fruits of Frankenfield... It's hard to keep up with that man... Always a new tune underway... Turn the rock opera into a studio album now! My nickname is Frankenstein, and I used to sing in the punk rock band... Frankenstein and the Fine Feelings... Sometimes I just get lucky being a TULL Fan When Ian starts writing new songs it seems like he's reading my mind although he always surprises me. Seeing the Rock Opera in person, it felt so cool watching the video with Franky up there... Most people are afraid of anything involving genetically modified foods...GMOs Frankenfield says ‘Tell your story’ LINK A recent survey conducted in Colorado in which about one third of the respondents said that GMO foods are almost always or usually safe. Only 20 percent said that they are never safe and the rest said they weren’t sure.
Frankenfield said that group of ‘uncertains’ – nearly 50 percent – are the “ones we want to target. “The 20 percent who say that GMOs are always unsafe think the rest of the world feels that way. The public is basically disagreeing with the scientists. Scientists, 88 percent of them, think GMOs are safe to eat; only 37 percent of the public believes that. We know the facts! We have the science behind us, but it’s the emotion from the public we’re trying to encourage”, he said.

March 7th in Ukraine... Meanwhile, today, Ian Anderson went to visit the Chernobyl nuclear plant, in Pripyat and Chernobyl LINK 1 LINK 2 Yesterday in Kiev appeared MTSKM rare visitor - the leader of Jethro Tull and the world's flute-rock star Ian Anderson. Two days before this interview he made a tourist trip to the Chernobyl zone, but the day before the concert we talked to him in Kiev hotel where he stayed. What Ian was in real life? Unexpectedly low and soft. Not encouraged by the hand (problems with brush, keep it for performance). Reluctantly signs discs (barely noticeable starts to get nervous in the third and fourth). He has a sharp and agile mind, not the impression of an old man, regardless of age (69 years). Keeps track of the situation in the world socio-economic problems, geopolitics - these themes is able to talk for hours. About Chernobyl, to my shame, knows much more than I do. On innovations in agriculture can not read a lecture (but we decided to leave this topic for next time). Age and death speaks calmly, openly and without taboos. With this difficult topic we, in fact, started. You come to Ukraine for 3 days before the concert specifically to visit Chernobyl. What are your impressions of the visit?
I thought that all this was due to the tragic mistake of only two people, and now many countries are paying for this mistake. I thought about the people who died in the first months or through long-term consequences of this catastrophe and for those who had to leave their homes and go, look for a new job, to completely change everything that was their life. However, this story is not only the dark side. It showed the positive side of human nature - the kindness of those who were isolated and continue to devote quite significant sums on clean-up and sarcophagus.
What many nations united for solving common tasks - it's wonderful. In this sense, my visit to the sarcophagus at Chernobyl was something of a visit to the beautiful cathedral or museum.

I always wish i could be at Tull concerts in distant ( or nearby) lands....but. for some reason, concerts in the former USSR and tougher east bloc locales, really make me feel I am missing something exciting and real. I mean, the combination of Tull and the history and coolarity of venues in places like Kiev and Vilnus...plus, walking out into those places surrounded by passionate, unjaded fans...anyway...please send my airfare to Moscow or a cork for my mouth.

The legendary band Jethro Tull frontman organized the rock, breathing history shows! LINK Live rock history lesson - otherwise can not be called the concert, which was held in Vilnius on Friday evening hall Compensa. Performances with his band here hosted by Ian Anderson -69-year-old British singer, flutist, guitarist and songwriter, best known as the 49 year frontman of "Jethro Tull". By combining blues, folk and progressive rock elements, this group has reached enormous heights - the album sold more than 60 million copies of its collection - Grammy and other important music awards. Or play the blues, or Johann Sebastian Bach interpretation I. Anderson remains one of the most interesting artists in popular music scene - not only for the musical adventure, but also because of the special love of playing the flute while standing on one leg (it is called the "Flamingo").
A few decades ago released album "Aqualung" and "Thick As A Brick" is rightfully considered a rock classic, but the last few years, "Jethro Tull's story is vague. For I. Anderson sends different messages to the world of rock - a few years ago he announced that Jethro Tull's story is finished. Since then organizes concerts and albums allow their behalf, but it is accompanying the group is playing a pair of former Jethro Tull "members, while on tour, during which this time went to Vilnius, Ian also plays the best of the group songs. "Now that no name, but the songs of the group survived. That song and "Jethro Tull", not the 32 musicians who are over 49 years played in the group. Some of them are no longer among the living, many do not play, or in poor health. Ian - the only one who played in the group from the beginning.
Here, as with Beethoven - when you say that you're a fan, you mean the music, not the man "- before the concert, said the singer. Lithuania is open to the public the second time - the first time with "Jethro Tull" performed in the Vilnius Siemens Arena in 2005.
The visit by the legendary rocker of Merit culture decoration Order of the British Empire, still raises the bad memories. "I was not paid for the performance. The concert promoter simply disappeared and could not be found. As far as I heard, he ceased to work, Lithuania is now working with other organizers, and everything will be fine. To promote and not qualify for the money - a very rare case. During the entire 49-year career as happened to me maybe only three or four together. It is sad, because the concert was good. When I first track of your networks in a country, after all, this is special. Always a bit you risk, because you do not know the concert promoter, you're not having had affairs. I remember that the concert was held unprofessional, and ultimately still have not received payment, that in such countries, we are not asking for a lot of money, "- said I. Anderson.
"I think it's hilarious concert. I would like to say that I'm doing this for the fans, but actually doing this for fun. I am a selfish musician. Many artists are - artists, writers, directors. Most artists create for themselves, it is the most important engine. On stage, the main thing that I'd be happy, " - said before the show I. Anderson. Looking at the smile on the stage, it seemed that this evening he felt that way - by sharing music with people to whom it is important. Although I. Anderson in Lithuania will probably never have a full arena, but for those who have this evening watched a concert, it is more important than ten arenas in the assembly of stars put together.

www.ukrinform.ua/rubric-culture/2190849-jen-anderson-zasnovnik-britanskogo-gurtu-jethro-tull.htmlIn early March, the Ukrainian fans were able to attend the live concert of true musical legend of British rock bard Ian Anderson, founder and leader of the popular band Jethro Tull. We are very grateful to the organizers of the concert, Happy Music Group and TRM Agency for the opportunity to talk with the interesting and witty conversationalist who is Ian Anderson on a variety of topics - from the state of Chernobyl zone to the philosophical questions of life and death. - Yene, we are very happy to welcome you in our beautiful city. By the way, you were already here in 2005. It is since then, in your opinion, has changed Kyiv? - I begin to answer this question by comparing Kyiv and Bucharest, where we were a few weeks ago. In both cases, felt a major investment in new buildings, restaurants, etc. calving. Changing their appearance, and they are similar to major European cities. We can say that an investment in the future. It is now in expensive designer boutiques are no buyers in many restaurants - problems with customers and, most importantly, the gap between rich and poor people is growing. Most local people can afford only looking at the shop windows, but the money out to buy, say, Rolex watches, Mercedes cars or designer jewelry, they do not. Such things available to those who are "working" on the black market or implicated in corruption and criminality another type of drug, and so on. P. - Yesterday you visited Chernobyl. Share your experiences on this trip. - I do not remember what he did on the day when it was a disaster. By the way, I do not remember what he did in the day that killed John Lennon. But I remember very well your thoughts when then read the news and listening to what they say about it on television. Even then, I felt that this is a very serious long-term problem. As they say, sometimes something happens somewhere. And so the tragedy occurred. Yesterday I not only paid tribute to the memory of those who died as a result of the Chernobyl disaster, but also to many people, life which this sad event has had a considerable influence - they had to leave home, find a new job, do improve the health exploded. But in all this history should not be left to notice the "dark side." There is a positive side of human nature. Over 31, that have passed since then, many people and even nations united to joint efforts to overcome the consequences of the disaster and to address the problem and has allocated significant resources to clean-up and support of the sarcophagus at the appropriate level. It was a tragic mistake two people for whom paying for many years all over the world. It is good when people come together and begin to look for ways to solve the most urgent problems. I would say that the visit of the Chernobyl brought me no less emotion than a visit to the beautiful cathedral or museum. - Let's go back to your music. What words would still be the best thing to use, talking about your performance today - Ian Anderson, Jethro Tull or Jethro Tull by Ian Anderson? - I believe that it is important. For me, in the words of Jethro Tull laid three substantive components. First, is the name of a historical character, British silhospdiyacha, who lived in XVII-XVIII centuries. Second, a group through which for 49 years has passed 32 musicians. And finally, third, perhaps most important component - a repertoire, a musical context the concept of Jethro Tull. Imagine you - a fan of classical music and say "I love Beethoven." This does not mean that you love Beethoven as a person (by the way, few know that he was in life), it concerns his music. Or the man says: "I like Matisse" or "I love Renoir". Here again not mean person, but it is the works of art. So in our case. When one thinks of Jethro Tull, it primarily means our music, and remembers his uncle, who is the middle of the stage on one leg and playing the flute. But I do not think that she also thinks about another 32 people, because most likely she knows their names. I can tell you that many of the fans of Pink Floyd did not know the names of its members. I myself witnessed how one of the press conferences guitarist "Floyd" David Gilmour did not know even journalists. - It would be interesting to know how you came to the idea of a rock opera about this very silhospdiyacha named Jethro Tull. - I used to read about it, but deep knowledge of his biography were not. Our agent came up to the group its name in January 1968, but me personally, this character was not as interesting to delve into his biography. And three years ago I went to one of the concerts in Italy, the internet was good and I zamanulosya learn more about that uncle. It was found that in the process of accumulating information about Jethro Tall, I felt more and more links between it and many of my compositions. After that, I even made a list of the songs that are in some way can be associated with the topic. When I looked at it, then immediately got the idea that this setlist ready for the next show. Thus was born the idea to talk about Jethro Tall life through my songs. I quickly decided that the action will unfold in the past, and his biography will be extrapolated to the present, though Jethro began work on innovation in agriculture is up and running, so to speak, for the future. With age, have to practice more and more. This lesson master I remember forever - How do you prepare for touring performances? Yet, perhaps, age makes itself felt (Anderson - 69 years - approx .) ? - Great flutist Sir James Galway once told me that age have to practice more and more. This lesson master I remember forever. Therefore, in periods between tours tours when not necessary almost every day up on stage and play, I continue to "train". In the first days after the tour should relax because I am engaged in music around an hour a day. And then this time gradually increases. However, I guided in their records of 20-30 years ago. Planck flutist and guitarist I can not keep quite easily. The hardest thing - a vocal, it is impossible to keep the noise that you have been 20-30 years ago and, unfortunately, part of the band lost. In this regard, I always remember Luciano Pavarotti example. It's terrible that the peak of his popularity came in the last 20 years of his life when the world famous tenor voice was impossible to even compare with what was in his younger years. Moreover, in his last concert, he even sang live, and the audience listened to the soundtrack. But there are happy instances where vocalists can not save voice condition in old age. I must say that the problems may be faced not only singers but instrumentalists - guitarist and keyboardist. Quite often taunted their arthritis tunnel syndrome. One of the most tragic and illustrative examples - a Keith Emerson, who committed suicide last year. Back in 1996 he told me that can play no more than 45 minutes, after which he feels pain and discomfort, so hedlaynerski performances of the band Emerson, Lake and Palmer and a half to two hours has become unavailable. What can you do when in some cases, health and physical activity are kept to old age, while others are in the 30-40 years old people lose the opportunities through which they became famous. It's life. - Yes, that's life. And last year a lot of famous musicians departed from this life to another world. So that loss was most noticeable for you? A number of musicians actually samozruynuvalysya. More often - the consequences of excessive alcohol and cocaine in his youth - I knew some of them - Keith Emerson (of which mentioned above), Greg Lake, a little earlier - Jon Lord (keyboards Deep Purple). Let's just say waste people you know, adds a sense of understanding of their own mortality and preparing for this last moment. At one of the final concerts of Black Sabbath, I spoke with Tony Iommi, who admitted that he wants to quietly spend his last years with family, not knowing how long it will last - year or ten. It is known that Tony cancer, his condition is stabilized, but it can be. I must say that there are a number of musicians who actually samozruynuvalysya. This John Wetton and Lemmy, and one hundred percent Amy Winehouse. More often - the consequences of excessive alcohol and cocaine in his youth. Some did not hesitate more "heavy" drugs - for example, the group as a whole Cream - Eric Clapton, Jack Bruce, Ginger Baker. The fact that some of them were lucky to survive, does not make them otaku kruteznymy example for the younger generation, they say, "do anything crazy in the early years, and then - in the eyeballs and all will be classroom." In my view, this argument is wrong. For drugs and alcohol - this is definitely irreparable harm to the human body. And most correct description of such people is sound, sorry, yes - «f * cking idiots». A classic example - a great musician, vocalist and bassist of Cream Jack Bruce. Alcohol was the cause that he last 20 years of life suffering from liver problems (hepatitis, cancer) even underwent transplantation. Many well-known slogan "Sex, drugs and rock and roll." My advice to you - carry on its implementation of youth to old age, and when so few left. - And now to the eternal philosophical issues of life and death go back to music. Less than a month left before the release of your new String Quartets. Discover some of the details of the creative process of this project. - The foundation of this album is "classical" repertoire Jethro Tull. We know that music is based on three "pillars" - melody, harmony and rhythm. I believe that in most cases, you can add new energy to all three components and make them kind of redesign in a different musical genre. For example, take a jazz song and turn it into pop song with a classical masterpiece of jazz improvisation with rock or hit make country-Veselukha. So we have a very interesting way to show people that music - the music and the style or genre is not absolute. - Many thanks to you, Mr. Anderson, for a surprisingly interesting communication. I am confident that the concert tonight you and grateful audience get pleasure. And we will wait for your next visit. We hope that the expectations will be short-lived. Alexander Bird . Kiev. www.orlandosentinel.com/entertainment/et-cetera/os-jethro-tull-dr-phillips-orlando-20170313-story.htmlJethro Tull to rock Dr. Phillips CenterTrevor Fraser Contact Reporter March 13 2017 This should go without saying, but no, I don’t mean the 18th century agriculturalist. Magic Scottish flute imp Ian Anderson is leading the charge on a new tour by Jethro Tull. Technically, though the band sports Tull alums David Goodier, John O’Hara, Florian Ophale and Scott Hammond, the ensemble is being called Jethro Tull by Ian Anderson because band breakups are weird. Just ask other founding member of these hard rock pioneers Martin Barre who was at Orlando’s Plaza Live on March 10. In any case, Anderson and crew have announced a show at Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts in downtown Orlando. The set list will cover Tull’s hits and fan favorites from 1968 to the present. These include “Aqualung,” “Cross Eyed Mary,” “Bungle in the Jungle” and the 43-minute track that changed this reporter’s life, “Thick as a Brick.” Tickets are on sale Friday, March 17, starting at $35. Details at drphillipscenter.org.

www.stuff.co.nz/Ian Anderson talks travelling, Jethro Tull and Indian foodJACK BARLOW Last updated 12:38, March 16 2017 Even in an era packed with famous and distinctive frontmen, Jethro Tull's Ian Anderson stood out. With his giant beard, ever-present flute and, of course, that codpiece, he guided the band from enthusiastic blues fans to rock heavyweights. Albums like Aqualung and Thick as a Brick cemented Jethro Tull's status as one of the most popular bands of the 1970s. Through the years, Anderson has stayed the course, and now the band's back on its way here with him at the helm. LINK
