www.derbytelegraph.co.uk/Christmas 2016: How to get that festive feeling in Derby this weekBy jilldcfc | Posted: December 13, 2016 Jethro Tull Christmas at Derby Cathedral
On Thursday, December 15, Derby Cathedral plays host to rock legend and classical musician Ian Anderson, who will be performing a special Christmas Jethro Tull benefit concert. All proceeds will go towards the fabric and upkeep of Derby Cathedral.
This special evening will see Ian and his band perform tracks from Jethro Tull's back catalogue alongside a selection from the traditional festive repertoire. Expect surprise guests, unusual collaborations and a unique evening in the stunning surroundings of Derby Cathedral!
"I like the challenge of playing some of these most unusual "venues" at the end of the year. Concert halls have their idiosyncrasies. But cathedrals are something else entirely," says Ian. "It must be a decade ago that we started playing benefit concerts in churches and cathedrals during Advent. I hope you find that we merry men have prepared a tasty aperitif of seasonal tunes and Tulloid classics to whet your appetite for the Christmas feast."www.derbytelegraph.co.uk/christmas-2016-free-festive-fun-with-santa-reindeers-camels-and-mince-pies-in-derbyshire/story-29913130-detail/story.html

I'll do my best to oblige on that one Graham.
I took a stroll round to Big John's Gaff earlier, and the load-in is underway..! I didn't hang around for too long as I was technically supposed to be working!!!

Ha - they were all outside on a fag break! As that is a vice I don't partake of, I think I would have stood out like a sore thumb..
As Essen said - there were a few surprises which I won't spoil for those heading to Derby and Winchester. Suffice to say that Mrs Zob, who is not particularly a Tull fan, was highly delighted with one of these!
I will post a report on events once the two remaining shows are done.

Essen - if you took that second one from your seat, then you were only a couple of rows behind me! the chap with the frizzy white hair was just behind and to the right of us.
What a setting it was - I'm sure I saw King John have a little jig at one point..!
