1. Red River Shore - Dylan
Why, you ask? Because we lost someone so precious five years ago. The lament in this song has reached me like no other song ever has.
2. Grapefruit Moon - Waits
Why, you ask? For the same reason.

Why, you ask? "We were in at the kill again on a Milwaukee Mile" and "We came to Road America where we burned up at the lake" Lyrics that remind me of losing someone so precious.
5. Falling to The Bottom - Jerry Lee Lewis
Why, you ask? Because you must fall to the bottom before you can restore your faith. "...the truth I finally found falling to the bottom, and working my way down."
6. Fool to Cry - Stones
Why, you ask? Because the time comes where we must all be thankful for what we have and not what we lost. This song is for my 16 month old daughter.

10. Solsbury Hill - the Live Blood, London 2011 version. TRIUMPHANT!!!

Why, you ask? "There's a dream I keep havin', where my mama comes to me. Then, kneels down over by the window and says a prayer for me."
12. Shooting Star - Dylan
Why, you ask? My favorite song off Oh Mercy. I look up to the stars and think about a loss.
13. Portobello Belle - D.S.
Why, you ask? Crank the song up real loud. When some dude in the crowd realizes what he's singing, he starts screaming in jubilance. It makes me so happy to hear that guy so happy to hear this song (either that or he was just drunk). "She thinks she's tough. She ain't no English rose. The blind singer, he's seen enough and he knows. Do a song about a long-gone Irish girl." MOVING!
14. Powderfinger - Neil Young
Why, you ask? "Just think of me as one you never figured would fade away so young, with so much left undone". UNREAL
15. On The Turning Away - Floyd
Why, you ask? He NEVER ceases to amaze me with the warmth that is inside him.
16. What It Is - M.K.
Why, you ask? There's a loneliness in this song, you can smell it. "High on the wind the highland drums begin to roll and something from the past just comes and stares into my soul". Does this guy read my mind?
17. Coming Home - Joe Grushecky and the Houserockers -
Why, you ask? "....The concrete and the city lights won't keep me warm like you tonight. I'm COMING HOME!" beautiful.
18. Never Went Down - Jean Beauvoir
Why, you ask? Parents used to fight, a lot.

20. Inside of Me - Little Steven (at the piano) www.youtube.com/watch?v=AV6V9pN2Eps
Why, you ask? "There was a moment in time we could almost taste adventure every day. Now, I know that we're a little bit older. But, that don't mean there's nothing new left to say".
