IMHO.....Martin Barre has been Tull's guitar sound, since Stand Up.... but..........Martin alone can only try to do Tull stuff, his own stuff isn't very good.... ...so he has no choice. He has no chance, it's like the Stones without Jagger, or Queen without Freddie, or fish without chips......... Ian has managed to produce a new album TAAB2 and tour it for over a year, and is bringing out a new album soon..... .....Martin has been severely shafted, for one reason or another..... IMHO only.... ....I've only been a fan since I saw them on the first Brick tour......... Looking forward to the new album though, but I get the feeling it will be a lot instrumental.......(to make up for the vocal problem) Hence the promotion that it will be a heavy flute thing....... I would've loved that back in 77........ OK.....now chill out you lot..........

An all-instrumental album (maybe AFTER "Homo Errr...") might be cool. "Divinities" , after all, was great. Wouldn't mind a more hard rock/prog even a folky all-instrumental album from Ian.....AND a tour!
Also, I don't see Ryan O'Donnell in any of the current band pics. He's not singing on the new album?

Thanks, Tull50. But, you say "I think the NEW GUYS have....this new arrival of Tull" New? The main guys, O'Hara, Goodier and Opahle have basically been Ian's band since 2003! and there was no new album to 2012! lol Well you are really wrong 1.-Jethro Tull played until 2011 2. - Ian Anderson played with Tull until 2011 "Now Anderson, who in September said he’d made no decision to shut down Tull for good, tells The Aquarian: “Back in 2011 I met with Martin and Doane to talk about 2012. I explained I had been working on a project and that I did not want to pursue it under the Jethro Tull banner." Anderson remains proud of the Tull lineup that featured both men – but suggests he wanted to concentrate harder on studio work, and that wasn’t the band’s strongest point. “They were polished on stage,” he says. “I don’t think, though, they quite had the fire in the belly for recording. At least a couple of them were never at their best in the studio.” Read more: www.progrockmag.com/news/no-bad-blood-in-jethro-tull-says-ian-anderson/3. - the new band starts in 2012 Jethro Tull's Ian AndersonIan Anderson Florian O'Pahle John O'Hara David Goodier Scott Hammond Ryan O'Donell (¿?) 4.- From 2012 to 2014 two albums - TAAB 2 - Homo Erraticus During the time that Ian alternated Jethro Tull with his solo band, a new album: Ian Anderson Plays the Orchestral Jethro Tull (2004) How many solo albums did Ian during its golden age? (Anderson, Evan, Martin, Barlow, Hammond/Glascock) Also laugh now? LOL! Tull50

Hi, Tull50. I was only referring to a previous post that surmised that Ian may have been finally able to write and record new material in 2012 because he was "revitalised by the 'NEW GUYS'" . And I was just saying that they weren't "New" at all and if they did revitalise hime, why did it take 9-10 years?! lol
From the JTull.COM site, written, presumably by Ian himself,
David Goodier: "Since 2002 he has been touring worldwide with Ian Anderson on various projects as well as Jethro Tull "
John O'Hara: "Around 2003 he met Ian Anderson and joined the Rubbing Elbows tour on piano and accordion and has continued since then to...."
Florian Opahle: "In 2003 he began working with Ian anderson on his various projects, including his orchestral ...."
So, obviously, Ian was not revitalized by the "new guys" to start doing new stuff lol

Hi billw, not convince me at all, but I will not waste my time arguing with you, I think that's what you're looking for. Simply been replaced Martin by Florian and Scott by Doane, that's all. This has happened in Jethro Tull along its entire history. This hurts a lot and that is why there is some forum dedicated entirely to criticize this and everything Ian does. I'm not going to laugh at you, simply we think differently, my arguments are clearly stated, I close this topic and ask for a little more respect, it is no laughing necesari about publications of others if you do not agree.

US dates at same or similar size venues as the TAAB 2 shows...contrast with Germany where the Homo venues are almost all a medium or big step bigger....likley due to sellouts and stronger demand for TAAB 2.
