Not even sure where the hell that would be, as it appears to be north of both Skye and Fort William, the last areas I recall of signifigant population in that neck. Maybe some choice outdoor place like that Talair or somesuch they played in 94 or so that barring an unexpected financial windfall I won't be seeing, but love to see it on the itinerary. Btw angels constantly come to my rescue re Ian, probably about the last 5 times I have seen him was the result of someone interceding and dealing me out a ticket, happened again, got a choice seat about 20 rows back on center for a couple Monday's from now at Ravinia, which has to be at or nearly the choicest outdoor theater they will play in the USA, be about the 4th time seen there, all the others Tull. Would take a backseat to the Greek Theater in Berkeley, but not the Greek in LA where he played last night. Only off seeing pictures I can tell it is not of the same grade as the one to the north. Nor does it have all the Grateful Dead historical largesse but I digress. Also I saw arrows leading down from areas in the central ne of Scotland, I wonder where that was, did not appear to be precisely where Inverness, Perth or whatever that oil town with the pretty blond from 82 is. If I could go I need to find a fast friend named Craig in the following year so I can excitedly shout his name all Scottish style at the gig to quality annoy people. I already shout this one guy's name, Tullio, pronounce Toolio in an excited high pitched voice during the louder ovations when I get away from it. That's how I have perceived Ian in the past year since I became aware of this guy, the great Toolio (Tullio)

Might be interesting to have John Lydon as a special guest. Other than him, I really hope IA keeps Ryan on the books.

I'm up for that too. Now all we need is news of a North East venue. Anyone fancy seeing them at The Sage? But I'll settle for good seats at The City Hall.

Jethro Tull's Ian Anderson announces UK tour, including Southampton date 3:20pm Tuesday 30th July 2013 in Music www.basingstokegazette.co.uk/leisure/music/10580418.Jethro_Tull_s_Ian_Anderson_announces_UK_tour__including_Southampton_date/ LEGENDARY Prog Rock icon Ian Anderson has announced a 2014 UK tour including an appearance in Southampton. The tour will follow the release of his new concept album. Tickets for his Southampton gig on April 29, 2014, will go on sale on September 4. Anderson will be touring throughout 2014 and the show will feature a selection from the new album - which he defines as ‘Folk-Prog-Metal’ - in its more theatrical setting, together with a selection of Jethro Tull highlights. The forthcoming record release will feature heavier, less acoustic guitar sounds and more of Anderson’s trademark flute. He said: “After winning the Grammy for best Hard Rock/Metal album back in 1988, this seems like an opportunity to justify that strange and misplaced accolade with a new album to celebrate the more forceful, full-on rock credentials which are found in many of my songs over the last 45 years. “It's not an end to the acoustic and gentler moments but more of an emphasis on the louder aggressive flute style which marked me out from the earliest days of Jethro Tull.” Tickets priced £30 and £26 will be available from the box office on 023 8063 2601 from September 4.

North dates for Jethro Tull legend Ian Andersonwww.northern-times.co.uk/Prog rock icon Ian Anderson will play Inverness and Aberdeen in May - tickets go on sale on September 4. The Jethro Tull frontman, legendary for his flute-playing - sometimes on one leg! - plays the dates at Aberdeen Music Hall on May 20 and Eden Court on May 21. The shows have no support and begin at 7.30pm. The tour supports the release of his new concept album to be recorded early next year and released around Easter. Anderson will also be recognised with a Prog God award at this year's Progressive Music Awards. He's touring throughout and the show will feature a selection from his new 2014-release concept album - which he defines a "folk-prog-metal" - together with a selection of Jethro Tull highlights. The upcoming record release will feature heavier, less acoustic guitar sounds and more of Anderson’s trademark flute. He says: “After winning the Grammy for best hard/rock/metal album back in 1988, this seems like an opportunity to justify that strange and misplaced accolade with a new album to celebrate the more forceful, full-on rock credentials which are found in many of my songs over the last 45 years. "It's not an end to the acoustic and gentler moments but more of an emphasis on the louder aggressive flute style which marked me out from the earliest days of Jethro Tull.” On winning the Prog God award, Anderson said: "It is, indeed, an honour to receive this illustrious prog award and dwell in such lofty heights amongst the good and the great of the last 40-plus years. I remain very happy to inhabit the progressive rock world, as both performer and listener. "And where else could a self-taught, mediocre but extremely loud flute player make a decent living? .” His current Thick As A Brick tour – included a one-off performance at the Royal Albert Hal. Tickets for the 2014 shows are expected to go fast when they go on sale on September 4 from the venues and from 9am online booking: www.gigantic.com/artist/ian-anderson . Jethro Tull's Ian Anderson Announces Tour and Prog God Award - 08/16/2013 www.antimusic.com/news/13/August/16Jethro_Tulls_Ian_Anderson_Announces_Tour_and_Prog_God_Award.shtmlJethro Tull frontman Ian Anderson have announced that he will be embarking on a UK tour next Spring and also responded to news that he will be receiving the Prog God Award at this year's Progressive Music Awards. The tour will be kicking off on April 28th in 28th Brighton at the Dome and will be concluding with two nights at the 02 Shepherds Bush Empire in London on May 24th and 25th. The Progressive Music Awards will be taking place on September 3rd in London and are spearheaded by Day in Rock news partner Prog Magazine. Here is what Anderson had to say about his Prog God Award honor and addressed a controversial past honor he received, "After winning the Grammy for best 'Hard Rock/Metal" album back in 1988, this seems like an opportunity to justify that strange and misplaced accolade with a new album to celebrate the more forceful, full-on rock credentials which are found in many of my songs over the last 45 years. "It's not an end to the acoustic and gentler moments but more of an emphasis on the louder aggressive flute style which marked me out from the earliest days of Jethro Tull." He adds, "The innocent voyage of restless souls: that's prog rock. Sometimes bombastic, self-indulgent and worse, it is also an honest, gut-felt reaction to the often simplistic and repetitive nature of much of pop and rock. "It is, indeed, an honour to receive this illustrious Prog award and dwell in such lofty heights amongst the good and the great of the last forty-plus years. I remain very happy to inhabit the progressive rock world, as both performer and listener. "And where else could a self-taught, mediocre but extremely loud flute player make a decent living? Not in country and western, I would suppose. But, hey: if the boots fit and the buckskin-fringed coyote crooner calls, then count me in Cowboy! Brokeback Mountain could never sound sweeter." Prog Magazine Editor Jerry Ewing had this to say, "For 45 years Ian has been playing live, and I don't think I have ever seen two shows the same! It doesn't matter if its Jethro Tull or Ian on his own – its always magnificent, groundbreaking and captivating. Without him rock would be a very different and lesser place, so to announce him as our Prog God at the same time as he announces a UK tour seems hugely fitting." Anderson will be touring in support of his forthcoming album, which he describes as a 'Folk-Prog-Metal' concept album. The album will be released next year and fans can expect to hear tracks from the effort along with Jethro Tull classics on the tour.
