Is that our Ash appearing at The Big Top? What are you performing this year Ash? Well I've heard from good authority that our Ash plays a pretty mean flute so I'm thinking he'll be playing "The best of Jethro Tull". One more year passes and I've not been asked to play again

Cannot believe that IA is at the bottom of the listings for the Isle of Wight. I have not heard of my of the others (who is this Fleetwood Mac?)
On another topic.. would anyone know whether the Istanbul concert is still on in February? I am able to get there from Italy relatively cheaply and would love to go. I cannot find tickets anywhere though but admit that may because my Turkish is a bit rusty. I read somewhere that the theatre is closed this month so just wondered if the concert was still on.

Cannot believe that IA is at the bottom of the listings for the Isle of White.. I have not heard of my of the others (who is this Fleetwood Mac?) I'll admit to being a bit miffed at seeing IA + Band at the bottom of the list and I do wonder why. If this is the case I hope that they're not being seen these days as "elder statesmen" of the rock world and that they're not included just as a nod to their longevity but more to the originality of the songs and performance etc. Shame in a way that Mick Abrahams hasn't been invited along to the shindig as Blodwyn Pig were at the 1969 bash. ISLE OF WIGHT FESTIVAL 1969 Headliners: Bob Dylan, The Who Other big names in the line up: Free, Family, Joe Cocker, Richie Havens, The Moody Blues, Pentagle, The Nice, The Pretty Things, Third Ear Band, Blodwyn Pig, Blonde on Blonde, Bonzo Dog Doo Dah Band, Aynsley Dunbar, Eclection, Fat Mattress, Gary Farr, Julie Felix, Gypsy, Heaven, Marsha Hunt & White Trash, Indo Jazz Fusions, King Crimson, The Liverpool Scene, Mighty Baby. www.isleofwightguru.co.uk/isle-of-wight-festival-history.html

Special Guest? Double bill maybe, but was FM really that big. Obviously I'm more of a JT fan but I didn't think Fleetwood Mac was all that ginormous.

I went along to Wembley to the Fleewood Mac / Tull / Hall and Oates concert. This is the one where Tull sold tee shirts saying Tull and some other guys. Think it was the worse Tull performance I have ever seen. The sound was not great and it was still light when the band came on. They did not get the big screen and you got the feeling that everything was set up to make FM look better than the other bands. I was not that impressed with FM. This was the concert they did without Lindsay Buckingham and I think they missed him.

This was the concert they did without Lindsay Buckingham and I think they missed him. I was at the Wembley concert and it was a strange one indeed. FM had two guitarists replacing Lindsey Buckingham who were OK but didn't really add much to their performance. Maartin Allcock, who we met wandering in the crowd before the concert started, warned us that the big screens wouldn't be working for Tull which was a shame. Tull must have been given a lot of money in performance fees to do the gig which was probably why they did it As for Hall and Oats I can't remember their part of it at all - another strange act on the bill.
