Группа во главе с Андерсоном на сцене играла все те же Heavy Horses, Aqualung (молодой мистер Талл вышагивал тут, возмущаясь чем-то, по английским улицам), Back To The Family (на экране показывали архивные семейные фотографии), Living In The Past... Hits for agronomist The group Jethro Tull played in Moscow rock opera named after himself Text: Andrew Vasyanin Performance on the stage of Crocus City Hall called "Jethro Tull: The Rock Opera". Moscow has become one of the first capitals in the line of European cities, where the founder of the band Jethro Tull and the author of all her music Ian Anderson carries a new show. Mr. Anderson more than a year ago, has already announced the closing of a great team in the late '60s brought the rock musical mannerisms of the XVIII century and scratches thunder bass affectionately flute, but he is clearly not going to part with any music Jethro Tull, or with musicians group. All of them took part in recording a solo album this year Homo Erraticus, and in the performance of the rock opera on the stage of Crocus City. Action passed at the same time on the screen and on stage. Video is a simple enough act on the historical and social themes with the participation of agronomist Jethro Tull (in whose honor and was named the team), his wife and father ... The gray-haired father could learn bassist David Gude. John of Hara but that led to a concert piano parts, played the role of screen disheveled professor of biology, and get used to the image of the legendary agronomist Anderson instructed backing vocalist on Ryan Donnelly. He was on the screen and the maestro himself - that as the lead in the mantle, then by himself. And what about the music of the rock opera? The group led by Anderson on stage to play all the same Heavy Horses, Aqualung (young Mr. Tull paced here, resenting something on English streets), Back To The Family (the screen shown archival family photographs), Living In The Past. .. quite stand comparison with the eternal hits DT first performed in Russia number of Homo Erraticus - screen heroes in white robes sang in biochemical laboratories. It looked like all of this, alas, is not very convincing: the musicians turned bad actors, the video was faded, coined the songs entourage did not add meaning to them. Of course, Mr. Anderson is free to do with their own unique harmonic know-how all that want to file them on backgrounds of any. Harpsichord music of Jethro Tull level he has played with symphony orchestras. These transitions tones and timbres at a distance of a few bars to listen with no less gusto and performed by modern rock band. A new form of delivery of music maestro has proved to be useful and that the number of rock-opera singing on stage he himself Anderson, screen heroes opened his mouth on the screen for recording in the studio. The musician has had an opportunity, not leaving the stage, and without interrupting the song, paused, keep the voice. And it is now necessary: in The Witch s Promises, for example, and not only, Anderson did not take high notes. But the concert showed that when it was still fighting his enthusiasm, energy, vocal personality and sense of style, his flute, finally. All this was enough after each song hall Crocus comes to a standing ovation. "One can hardly get bored playing music Jethro Tull - too it is different," - once said in an interview with Ian Anderson. And listen to it, too, is unlikely to get bored in any wrapper or wrap. Although the eternal values of today, it seems, is not in vogue - the Moscow music fans Jethro Tull was only enough for a third krokusovskogo hall.

www.maximumvolumemusic.com/IAN ANDERSON: Jethro Tull- The Rock Opera @symphony Hall, Birmingham 11/9/15 September 11, 2015 Andy Thorley/News www.maximumvolumemusic.com/ian-anderson-jethro-tull-the-rock-opera-symphony-hall-birmingham-11915/Modern day Jethro brought to life in a night at the opera The very phrase probably would have sent MVM running for the hills a few years ago. The idea of a “rock opera” would have been unthinkable a decade back. Bloody hell, even now, writing this, it still conjures up dreadful long repressed memories of musicals watched as a kid and – worse still – family holidays filled with Queen’s Greatest Hits Volume One (and isn’t it staggering that they managed to milk a volume two out of their godawful output?) being the only tape allowed in the car. The point is, though, that times change and so do tastes. And when its Jethro Tull The Rock Opera, then ok, we’ll give it a go. To understand this, it’s best to know that the real Jethro Tull was a 17th century agricultural pioneer and for this, the mastermind behind the band of the same name, Ian Anderson has decided to move Jethro (the man) into the present day. So things begin with apocalyptic news broadcasts of food shortages and climate change. Then, amid a “live broadcast” of riots in London because rationing has been brought in its go time. Got that? Good. Because this is not a conventional gig. In any way, shape, or form. Rather it’s a dazzling and at times bewildering assault on the senses including films, spoken word bits, a killer light show and some stunningly brilliant pomposity – and that’s just part one. Part one (which you suppose should be called Act One given this is all highbrow and cultural and that) luckily includes some magnificent new versions of magnificent songs. “Aqualung” is a song that you couldn’t get wrong however you play it, and the guitar solo in “Farm On The Freeway” is worth the admission price alone. Things are augmented throughout by a clutch of new tracks, written specifically with this in mind. Oddly, they aren’t all sung live, but rather by the “virtual” Jethro and Susannah Tull on the big screen. Good songs these – the early “Fruits Of Frankenfield” is particularly impressive – and the production is brilliantly clever, but it isn’t visceral. But then, the counter argument would run that isn’t supposed to be. Act two is very similar, a smattering of re-worked Tull classics – “A New Day Yesterday” and a phenomenal “Living In The Past” real highlights here – some new songs, “Stick, Twist, Bust” adds to the Anderson canon in the best way, and a kind of loose thread hanging them all together. Here Tull junior is a scientist, estranged from his dying father, while the set-ending “Locomotive Breath” sees everything back to normal on The Strand, so it seems crisis has been averted. The story, it should be said, rather lost this reviewer before the close. There’s an encore of a gorgeous new track, “Requiem And Fugue” and the players run on for introductions and that’s largely that. Despite everything else surrounding the evening, this is unmistakably an Ian Anderson gig. He’s still a frontman of considerable skill and he’s got a brilliant band around him. He – and they – are unique, because no one else would play air guitar with a flute while hopping about. And no one else would have attempted this. You certainly wouldn’t want every gig to be like it. You are pretty glad that this one was.

www.laizquierdadiario.com/[Another epic google translation ] Jethro Tull in Argentina: the rock opera in the English countrysideThe legendary British band will present their new show 2, 3 and 4 October at the Teatro Gran Rivadavia in Buenos Aires. Friday October 2, 2015 www.laizquierdadiario.com/Jethro-Tull-en-Argentina-la-opera-rock-de-la-campina-inglesaJethro Tull will visit Argentina again. Echo in my memory chords Stand Up album recorded on a portable cassette tape opened by my older brothers, who accompanied a family trip to the early 70s. A Kaiser Carabela, the narrow and perfume Parkway 2 the rhythmic melodies of We Used to Know that otherwise did shine the stars or a Back to the Family whose acoustic base is transformed into an unusual whirlwind where flute of Ian Anderson earned a distinctive role. Later I learned that Jethro Tull was an English agronomist eighteenth century, inventor of the original machine that facilitated the task of plowing and sowing large areas of countryside. And despite being considered one of the pioneers of the industrial revolution and promoter of the agrarian revolution, he died in poverty. -following The thought is that the writer John Berger "when a peasant resists the introduction of new techniques and methods of work, because it does not see the potential benefits, but those benefits because he believes that, given the nature of the things, can not be guaranteed, and if failed, he would be isolated, lonely, cut off from the routine of survival. " Survival, sustainability Concepts somewhat opposed to the current landowner whose operating profit rates are based on the practice of monoculture and the intensive use of transgenic seeds with good yields by pesticides. In this symbolic struggle between John Seymour and Grobocopatel the Jethro Tull concert featuring the Great Rivadavia Buenos Aires theater is inscribed: more than a concert, an opera whose plot will constitute a tribute to the original Jethro Tull, the farmer. But not about his biography. The narrative game offers us a young Jethro that comes in the context of a family farm and not without effort is driven by their parents to study at Oxford. Contexts change, the farm is sold, the government will build the layout of a highway for those dollars ... and Jethro, his studies in biotechnology in tow, journeys practice of scientific research; enters the private agribusiness sector, patenting new seeds; create your company and expand its market to livestock cloning. He returns to its source, to a small-scale organic production, and in their quest for balance does not deny science, but also gets the best rural traditions: but a break after the death of his father is generated. The allegory is framed through the musical force. Ian Anderson and his group promised a repertoire of classics like Aqualang, The Witch's Promise, Songs From The Wood or Heavy Horses contrived with new songs, some of them unpublished for Argentine ear. It will be worth approaching this new musical experience and travel along the Scottish minstrel and his band to remote countryside dotted with gentle undulations and stone buildings.

tn.com.ar/ [same photos used as contained in the article that TT found yesterday so I'll assume they're syndicated to all and sundry] Jethro Tull: the rock opera JugglerIan Anderson returned to Argentina to version classics and more recent topics of Jethro Tull, aggiornados with duets and witty visual setting. Today and tomorrow, new features in the theater Great Rivadavia. tn.com.ar/musica/en-vivo/jethro-tull-la-opera-rock-del-juglar_625431From a giant screen a video is projected on the original Jethro Tull , English agricultural pioneer of the industrial revolution and inventor of a machine for plowing and sowing. The narrator is none other than Ian Anderson , an artist whose imagination gave way to a rock opera show unusual. This is qualified by recital a story that puts in the time tunnel to the protagonist of the story and makes travel eighteenth century to the present and even the near future. Become an expert in bioengineering dedicated to new methods for the production of crops and livestock cloning, Jethro resolves back to basics and engage in small-scale organic production. That narrative game allows the Scottish minstrel move in water as you sit: intersperses the story with a dozen themes that run through several decades of his compositions. There is no lack classics like "Heavy Horses" , "Aqualung" , "Songs from the wood" , "Living in the past" , "Jack-in-the-green" , "Locomotive Breath" and the inevitable "Bourée" of Johann Sebastian Bach to close the show. The novelty is given by the inclusion of duets and choruses by visual technology: from screen upstage, Anderson interacts synchronously with other singers (which highlights the Icelandic Unnur Birna Björnsdóttir) to interpret some of the letters based on prerecorded material. Definitely a resource on which it relies to take a break and hide over the years on his vocal cords. 68 years piggybacking will have an impact on Anderson's voice but not the deployment stage or interpretive face of the flute, an instrument that is impossible to dissociate, which continues to run with the same skills and the same guttural sounds that Passion impose their notes. Among the musicians that accompany it is no longer the guitarist Martin Barre, sidekick who seconded him over 40 years of musical journey and decided to pursue new horizons in solo road. However, this absence is not noticed: the band sounds oiled, compact and powerful, able to pass undeterred progressive rock to pure bucolic British folk hallmark of Jethro Tull. The tour has two other stops in Buenos Aires on Saturday and Sunday at the renovated Teatro Gran Rivadavia here Floresta and year-end followed by another 20 concerts in Brazil, Chile, London and the United States.
