I'll write a post on my blog in the next few hours, everything will be there. Now I have to go and study, but I'll say that there were only about 100-150 people (really?), most Tull stuff Martin played was from the first five albums, due to the instrumentation, quite a few songs were rearranged, he played something from The Beatles, Porcupine Tree and also Rock Me Baby, and well, everyone was excellent. Apart from two friends and me, I doubt anyone was less than forty-five years old haha. Anyway, here come the videos I could take before my camera died... I should have recharged it first! Minstrel in the Gallery, To Cry You a Song, Eleanor Rigby and Thick as a Brick.

To sell only 150 tickets for a 1,000 capacity gig is financial suicide... ...Martin said on an interview recently he needed to do these gigs to make money...... .....well he isn't making money with those numbers. Sorry but this isn't happening.........

It's gotta be poor or non-existant publicity...you can't tell me there aren't 1000 people in and around Madrid who wouldn't have the time and money for Martin Barre if they had half a chance to plan to do so. It may be the promoters not martin's helpers. Were there a few posters in public centers and a word or three on the rock stations or did they simply come to Madrid and play to a small group in a big club ? Am I out of touch....are Tull fans my age simply retired from live music? Spaniards ?

Am I out of touch....are Tull fans my age simply retired from live music? Spaniards ? When I printed the proof of payment for the Martin Barre concert, the guy at the printing shop asked me about it because he's a big fan of Jethro Tull. When I went to the shop to get the ticket for the concert, the guy working there asked me a bunch of questions about it, because he's a huge fan of Jethro Tull. Those guys were between 40 and 50, and of course they didn't know about the concert before I went there. I think Tull has aged poorly in Spain, meaning not many young people are into their music (apart from the two friends who came with me, and myself, I doubt anyone was under 45 years old, maybe one or two more people but that's it). Also, as you said, non-existant publicity. I found about the concert in Martin's website because I read about Martin's tour somewhere in the internet, totally by accident. I've seen no posters at all. The club wasn't big anyway, but it wasn't hard for me to get less than two metres from the stage.

The publicity seems to be almost non existent and apart from Martin's web site and the JT discussion sites there seems to have been no publicity or at least very little. To sell only 150 tickets for a 1,000 capacity gig is financial suicide... ...Martin said on an interview recently he needed to do these gigs to make money...... .....well he isn't making money with those numbers. Sorry but this isn't happening......... Got to agree with you. If he wants to increase ticket sales and attract the JT fans he's got to get a professional publicity agent to spread the word and have someone on the ground to kick start sales. Our scenic tour manager Jim, together with A New Day magazine, have done more publicity for Martin than the professionals

I've been posting so much stuff on facebook and my blog about the concert that yesterday morning quite a few people I barely talk to were asking me about it, even if they don't give a sh*t about JT

If you're reading this Martin it might not be too late to hire our very own High Sheriff JTull 007 to do all your future publicity!
I can't think of anyone else who's advertised Martin's tour more.
Well done Jim!

Hell, even I HAVE done more publicity than the professionals... I've been posting so much stuff on facebook and my blog about the concert that yesterday morning quite a few people I barely talk to were asking me about it, even if they don't give a sh*t about JT This is more than likely the reason that Martin has not yet attempted to do any concerts in the USA due to the almost non existent professional publicity for the European shows. Now whether this is a case of diminishing returns or, as I suspect, promoters holding off until they see what the response is in Europe I don't know. The fans can only do so much and until Martin hires a pro to do the donkey work as far as promotion is concerned I can't see him doing any American concerts at least in the early part of 2015 which is a pity for those who want to see and hear his band in concert.

Hello to all, I've been away from the forum a long time due to work and health problems mainly. After the concert of Martin, I think it's the right time for my return, this forum should be the 1st place to post my videos, pics etc I'll start with a short review of the concert Great Martin's concert in Barcelona. Bassist seems to me something exceptional. Actually, Martin takes an incredible rhythm section. With a bassist and a drummer of that caliber is much easier to do it all ... Concerts are decreasing Tull songs and increase folk and blues songs. Martin has fun on stage and it shows, all the audience stand up ( no seats) to just one meter of the musicians, it was a great show for the fans but Martin deserves more public, the hall was small for a capacity of 225 people and was not full, maybe 150 people... Robert Mills again showed how NOT to organize a musical event. Many people went to Sala Bikini, no warnings and arrived late to the concert at Sala Razzmatazz 3, which is on the other side of town... After the concert the musicians joined the audience and signed autographs and photos for anyone who wanted. We also took the opportunity to congratulate Martin on his birthday The almost forgotten Q & A was delivered in hand by myself, Martin said OK no problem ... due the tour has-been very busy and the communication has-been difficult but hopefully this time will be the definitive... Before the Concert, photo by Daniel M. Martin Barre - Minstrel In The Gallery, Live In Barcelona 2014 Martin Barre - Misère, Live In Barcelona 2014 Martin Barre - Eleanor Rigby, Live In Barcelona 2014 Martin Barre Live At Sala Razzmatazz 3, Barcelona Nov 16, 2014 Musicians: Martin Barre: Electric and acoustic guitars, mandolin Dan Crisp: Vocals acoustic guitar, bouzuki Alan Thomson: Bass guitar George Lindsay: Drums & percussion Tomorrow more

Muchas Gracias Remy for such an excellent review! Welcome Back!
I was informed of the venue change by Remy (Tull50) just recently. This was not known to many people. As with certain promoters ability to communicate, there have been issues depending on which venue. Also thanks to Michele (Chea) I found out that a show in Milan was cancelled.
I will continue to search for any current info to spread the good word about Martin's Tour. I enjoy learning about such beautiful cities and the places that ROCK !!!!!

It's a shame the crowd was on the small size but very good to hear that Martin and the band were happy to mingle with the audience after the show. It just proves what a nice bunch of people they really are.

Really like the intro to 'Minstrel' - booming rhythm section, great 'clean' Martin guitar and the the surprise sax ( The sax whatever next - I.A. should try it sounds great ) Welcome to Jazz Club - 'Nice' PS. Aqualung1989. 50 is the new 25, in my head anyway. OneAndyMackayDuck
