W............O..........W*ollocks uTTER *OLLOCKS My second favourite musician. Another concert that I'll miss!! No concert since 1979 reputedly because of her fear of flying.Ian has also said that he fears flying so how come he can manage to overcome it and Kate and me can't? Great news. The Red Shoes is good, and Hounds of Love is a great album, I love Running up that Hill , and Cloudbusting...... But isn't her management (I presume) not being a bit presumptious that she can sell all these gigs at the same venue night after night.. She's 55 now and how will she perform....... I can't believe that there would be such a demand.... I can't stand Wuthering Heights......that squealing voice goes right through me.......

How old are the silver foxes (or baldies) that are still performing? The demand is huge - she has kept her fans (and the curious) waiting Her performance of Wuthering Heights, for me,had the same effect as when I saw and heard Ian for the first time.

According to UK radio, tickets for every show sold out in 15 minutes. Expect the usual flurry of sellers on ebay with tickets but I hope for the KB fans the majority of tickets went to them and not the touts.

Why on earth would anyone pay that for something unknown... ....she has done no live gigs since her one tour way back when, and released bugger all music to speak of since ...so what do people expect to see or hear I am gobsmacked....... I reckon the touts are trying to cash in bigtime Last I heard she was 22 stone and a recluse................... On no, that's me.............

Sublime mind you she's always been one for the wacky videos. Having said that this is one of my all time favourite videos. Just a thought -wouldn't mind a video from Anderson and Co of a recent song, it doesn't always have to be a single what about a song from an album as a promotion? Suppose the expanse wouldn't be worth it.

Truly heartfelt thoughts from me to anyone who has the utter utter pleasure of going to the concerts on the 26th August - onwards. Have an amazing, surreal time. The lady has asked for no recording or pictures - not that that's going to happen. Would love to see posts (pics/videos) here about the experience. There's a bloke called Mr Marrs on YouTube who puts together beautiful videos of Kate's songs. My world would have been a much duller place without Kate Bush.

Shall I Compare Thee To Another ......?Her songs and performances are off the wall. She is a unique talent - sometimes called "Bonkers" She shuns publicity - only to the point where she has to promote. Her concerts are full of theatrical imagination. Officially named as a Prog Goddess in the Prog Awards. i58.images obliterated by tinypic/4iosht.jpg[/IMG] i61.images obliterated by tinypic/10wo56c.jpg[/IMG] She doesn't tour for 35 years. She returns triumphantly to do 22 instantly sold out concerts. Eleven of her albums are set to enter the official albums chart. 1979The last time she performed. Jethro Tull 1979Stormwatch tour i58.images obliterated by tinypic/xmsu4g.jpg[/IMG] What if Ian had disappeared in 1979 with only a couple of albums to show he was still alive and then returned? What kind of reception and success would he get? Video from last night - a snippet.

Judging by the reception the IA band have received in Eastern Europe and other foreign parts such as Australia and New Zealand where he hasn't toured for some time I should think it would be sold out with week long extra dates added to the schedule. A case of "Bring it on Bruce"

Kate Bush: The last of the Great British Eccentrics is truly bonkersUnlike her prog-rock male counterparts, Kate Bush has always maintained a sense of humourThe “prog rock” stars of the mid-Seventies – Pink Floyd, Genesis, Jethro Tull and Emerson, Lake and Palmer – took this further with concept albums, space-age synthesizers and multimedia live shows. Kate Bush arrived at the tail-end of progs’ reign, just as the punks were blasting away at its pretension and pomposity. None the less, as a teenager with a naturally vivid imagination, a love of extravagant, romantic performance, and a penchant for crushed velvet, she still seemed poised to step into Alice in Wonderland’s mantle.www.telegraph.co.uk/culture/music/rockandpopmusic/11059176/Kate-Bush-The-last-of-the-Great-British-Eccentrics-is-truly-bonkers.html

Here's a great bonkers video from a fan who travelled across an "ocean" to see Kate. Great stuff Only an American tourist could say "I'm in Bexley Heath" with such enthusiasm. He puts Jim in the shade if this were Jim travelling to England for Tull

Message on Kate's website.
Hi there, Now all the shows are over, it's pretty difficult to explain how I feel about it all. It was quite a surreal journey that kept its level of intensity right from the early stages to the end of the very last show. It was also such great fun. It was one of the most extraordinary experiences of my life. I loved the whole process. Particularly putting the band, the Chorus and the team together and watching it all evolve. It really was the ultimate combination of talent and artists, both from the music business and the theatre world. I never expected everyone in the team to be so lovely and we all grew very close. We became a family and I really miss them all terribly. I was really delighted that the shows were received so positively and so warmly but the really unexpected part of it all was the audiences. Audiences that you could only ever dream of. One of the main reasons for wanting to perform live again was to have contact with that audience. They took my breath away. Every single night they were so behind us. You could feel their support from the minute we walked on stage. I just never imagined it would be possible to connect with an audience on such a powerful and intimate level; to feel such, well quite frankly, love. It was like this at every single show. Thank you so very much to everyone who came to the shows and became part of that shared experience. It was a truly special and wonderful feeling for all of us. Very best wishes, Kate x
Must be great for any performer to feel the love from an audience.
Wonder what percentage a favourable response from an audience contributes to the reason why people perform in the first place?

I watching "Kate Bush At The BBC" on BBC Four the other night. It showed rare snippets from all the BBC shows she has appeared on over the years. Iplayer www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b04f86xkOne of the things that struck me though was the similarity in performance style between her and Ian. Both had "musictricity" surging through their bodies when they sang and performed. Every note and word was played out on stage like they really really meant it. See if you see what I see. "We're all alone on the stage tonight..."
